The new Dreams Tulum thread! (Post all DT Qs&As here)

Recommended Posts

Hi Taegan,

We just got married a few weeks ago and although our reception was supposed to be

outside by one of the pools and we were just going to dance on the ground or concrete. It was really windy so we had to have it inside. I do know some weddings have had their dance right in the sand. When we were at DT, there were a couple weddings on the beach that had the rented dance floor. But we were like you and couldn't justify the cost.

Just keep in mind that it can be windy at night, it will likely be better in May. Depending how many guests you have, you might be more sheltered by the Dolphin Pool. If we would have had more guests, I would loved to have had our reception at the Seaside grill....you would have to rent the entire restaurant but if you had about 30 guests, you could still dance inside the restaurant.

I would recommend reading a few of the DT Wedding Reviews to see what others said.

Good luck!

Has anyone had a beach reception without the dance floor? We are worried about dancing in the sand but really for $850 for a plain dance floor we would like to invest that somewhere else.

We were thinking of using post's with paper lanterns to give the dance area definition.

What are you thoughts and if you have done something simular how did it go?

Thanks Everyone!!! :)

Hello Ladies ,

LauraAsh  , if your flower order will be only like bouquets , boutonieres or corsages then the flowers may be delivered directly to you and it should not be fee, the fee $120 could apply when you need the florist to come IN the resort and set the centerpieces and decorate the canopy...

But even if you pay the fee...BELIEVE me  it will help your budget ....

Please ladies feel free to ask me if you need any information about the resort I will happy to help you.... I used to work for Dreams  & Now resorts few years so I will happy to assist you :)

Sandy

Hey ladies, I just posted my review for the resort: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/products/dreams-tulum-resort-spa-all-inclusive/reviews/5591

If anyone has any questions about the resort, feel free to ask!

I also posted up a review of Del Sol Photography, who were hands down the best descision we made (after deciding to get married and to do a destination wedding, of course). If good pictures are important to you, I can't point you towards a better group of photographers. http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/products/del-sol-photography/reviews/5593

Our colours are coral and white. I am going to get fabric from home and use that to wrap around the chairs and archway. I am also purchasing flowers and seashells from the resort for the walk way. The only main thing I am struggling with are the flowers and centre pieces. I am not totally sold on their flowers yet. I love lillies. I have heard that you are able to bring pictures and they can try to mimic what you want.

I am also buying those paper laterns from home and brining them. I am going to get coral and white ones. I will use those for the dinner as we get married on the beach.

Hello Everyone

I just got engaged in December and have chosen Dreams Talum for my wedding April 2013...I thought having a destination wedding would be easier but it is stressing me out so much! what if its to expensive for people, what if it isnt what everyone expected, what if people are mad that I am going away?! I know it is my wedding day and I can do what I want but I just want it to be prefect!! anyways hello everyone and happy planning I am sure I will have tons of questions!!

First of all Congrats!!

The great thing about planning a destination wedding is there isnt a ton of stress. It is your day and do what you want. There will be a few people who wont be able to come due to price, and you wont be able to please everyone. However if you plan a wedding locally it would be the same. One of my best friends cant come because she got pregnant. It was aweful as she was a bridesmaid, however it happens!! My grandparents cant come either. However we are doing a small "ceremony" at home for them :)  Comprimise

I get married this May and so far my expereince with DT has been fantastic. I have heard great things about the resort. I think if you picked a great place.

If you have any questions let me know,

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
