The new Dreams Tulum thread! (Post all DT Qs&As here)

Recommended Posts

I introduced myself quite a while ago, howeverer we now considering changing our wedding date by a couple months. Initially, my FH and I decided on February.9 2013. Now we are thinking about changing it to May or early April to help cut the pricing down for some of our guest's.

I have a couple concerns, hopefully you ladies can lend some advice. Here are my worries:

-Weather, I am unfamilar with the weather in Tulum and would like to know if the rainy season kicks in around this time

(Travel websites say it doesnt start till June)

-Spring break and other holidays, part of our choice with February was missing any major holidays

For any brides who have had their wedding in February, May or April please give your opinion :)

Thanks!

Hi Taegan,

I know from being to Mexico in March that it is crazy with spring break. One thing to keep in mind though for February is that it is usually reading week or spring break for University and College students so the Playa del Carmen-Tulum region could be busy.

The cost is cheaper for January and February then it is in March, or April due to school breaks, which is why we are getting married in January, I am a teacher. I hope that helps. I do know that the weather is more consistent from January to April.

Good luck with your decision making!

Hi AM,

Thanks for the advice, I didn't know the states had their Spring Break in February, thanks! I will ask our travel agent to look into prices for the end of January, I think we will miss all the holidays and breaks then (hopefully)

Have fun with your wedding!!

If any brides have used an outside flower vendor for their ceremony and reception who would you recommend?  I have read a few reviews about Julietta, one being great (her photos were beautiful) and the others were not very good at all.

We are using the chapel, and I would like to have a flower arrangement for each pew and then 2 at the front of the church where we will be. We are having a beach reception and I would like to incorporate the flower arrangements from the chapel into the reception.

Who has quality work?

Great Review Carrie! Lots of great info! We leave in less then 30 days so your review got me excited!! Share it with my FI and his mom.

She sent us cuff links and my garter in the same tartan as his kilt that just came in this week.

I am hoping that I have luck with our coordinator in regards to the decor of the canopy. I am bringing extra chair sashes that I want hung on the white canopy. When I emailed them to ask the set up cost they told me 250$! I am hoping I can negotiate this as we have about the same amount of guests as you did so there isn't much set up needed for the chairs and sashes.

Any advice? I think we will be dealing with Landy now, it seems she has taken over our file from Anabel or do they share accounts?

I just went into my mailbox(outllook) and somehow found the resort document emails!! I guess I received them over a week ago and somehow they were marked as read! The deadline was this past Friday so I hope everything will be okay. I have been checking my email everyday as they said it should arrive around Nov. 20th.

Thanks again for your great information!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
