I wanted to share some of my photos from my wedding May. I felt that the most stressful part of planning the wedding was choosing the site for the private reception. We chose the Adult/Relax Pool, and it was perfect! It felt very private, the most common concern about that site from reading this forum is the lighting and wind. Lighting was def not an issue at all, and it is windy at all of the outdoor reception sites! We brought all our own decorations, they were set up perfectly. The centerpieces we chose were $65 each, however, one came free with the wedding package, and they allowed me to sub a centerpiece for the bridal bouquet that came with the package (I brought my own real touch bouquet), so I only had to buy 2.

Anyway, hope the photos help you with your wedding planning! DT is the perfect resort, I would choose it again and recommend it to anyone in a heartbeat!

Still trying to decide where to have the reception... my fiancé kind of wanted to have it on the beach, but the pics I have of the setup right next to the ceremony location looks pretty barren. For a group of about 20, with dancing, what does everyone recommend? We're bringing down some lanterns with us, but I don't really want to pay for any more lights on top of that.

Are you able to point me in the right direction for Angel's contact information, does she have a website? Did you give her photos of exactly what you wanted for the table centerpieces?

I saw you had your reception at the dolphin pool. Did you like that location? Natalia just emailed me back and said that the pool terrace is available for our reception, we had originally thought we would have it at the Wine Cellar. But after seeing photos of your photos and others, we decided we wanted it outside.

I guess our choices are the dolphin pool terrace or the relaxation pool terrace. Just was curious what your thoughts were since you have been there and had your reception outside.

Thanks!

Sorry I'm just now seeing this.  I hope you got in touch with Angel with no problems, I just love her! I actually had a friend last month who is getting married in Feb. and when she contacted Angel she used my name so Angel said she would make a special exception and add her order since her wedding is in Feb.  so she can be pretty awesome about things.

As far as reception goes I absolutely loved having our reception at the Dolphin Pool it was perfect I wouldn't change the location at all.  Also to all brides make sure you take extra care of your wait staff because they are amazing...we actually pulled ours out on the dance floor with us and everything.  We did the rehearsal dinner in the wine center which is great, but for a reception you can't do much for music so if you are planning on dancing that's not where you want to be.  We also found the wine cellar to be very hot, so perfect for rehearsal dinner's or a no dancing reception, but not otherwise.  Just work with Fernando on the wine cellar not the WC's.

Hi Sheena,

I am just curious as to which wedding package you are getting. I emailed Natalia my coordinator last week in regards to the fee for them setting up decor that we bring and she told me it was 4$ a person. I know that if you get the Dreams of Love of Ultimate package, the set up fee is supposed to be covered. I know if you have more then 20 guests, you do have to pay the set up free. I just wanted to make sure that you and I both got the same information.

Happy planning and thanks for the measurements!

I got the Dreams of Love. And since I have programs and menu cards, they are also charging me the $4 a person as well as $150 to literally throw white tulle over the arch (I just want it to hang, not wrap) and another $150 to set up the paper lanterns I'm bringing. I'd understand if I had a lot of decor or if I wanted something elaborate done to the arch, but neither is the case. I've pretty much told my fiancé that he's putting up the tulle because I refuse to pay that much for it. I'm a bit cheap when it comes to stuff like that :).

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
