The cost per bottle of wine ranges from $25-$60 per bottle.  It all depends on what you get really but I think for 15 of us it came around $200 something.  I don't know the exact total because my FIL paid for it.

We used an outside photog who stayed off site, and we also used the resort photog.  The guy from the resort was present for our cocktail hour it worked out great.

Florist: I used Angel from Angel accents and got all real touch flowers since I was picky on my flowers. I strongly recommend not using the resort if you know exactly what you want because they charge so much more than an outside florist.  If it's something relatively simple then the resort wouldn't be a problem but my centerpieces cost me $45 a piece and the resort wanted to charge me $425 for the same thing.  Just an idea of cost differences....also I contacted other florist in the area and they were all charging me between $45-$65 for the same centerpiece.

Dance floor: you don't need a special dance floor for dancing you just need an area to dance.  Dance floors are not necessary at all, we just danced on the cement by the pool where our reception was held.  I never once even considered getting a dance floor while planning.

The beach is great at night, and I don't know when you're going to be there but we were there in May and we never had any problems with bugs.

Hi vlynnw,

Thanks for the info. Can you tell me how you located local florists? I may just get centerpieces from a local florist there. My sister may make my bridesmaid bouquets with silk flowers and then I will get my bouquet incorporated in the package.

Hi Ladies,

So I have asked a few questions already but I want some feedback on the different DT wedding packages. We have booked the Dreams of Love Package, but now looking at the difference in price, I am wondering if the Ultimate package is better value for your money.

Before I email the wedding coordinators, maybe past DT brides can clarify for me a couple questions regarding fees.

If we get the Dreams of Love package, do we still have to pay a 165$ set up fee for the beach reception? chairs, ..etc. Does the Dreams of Love package include any fabric or decor for the canopy/gazebo?

In the ultimate package, how long does the mariachi trio play for?

Any hidden fees that aren't mentioned in either package?

From what vlynnw said, we could dance outside by our pool reception without paying for a dance floor?....

I was thinking of just bringing an ipod dock and speakers for the dinner instead of renting the sound system again...Has anyone done this? Feedback?

Thanks!

I am planning on bringing an iPod and Bose docking station! I am sure it will work out. My friend got married at the Barcelo and dd the same thing and they all enjoyed it! As for the packages, I do not know. I am not clear on a few things about the packages either.

Here you go ladies! I just want everyone to know that i could have gone down there and didn't plan/stress about a single thing! ( too bad as a woman i did) lol. But just know that it was amazing having all our friends and family together to celebrate! Don't worry about anything because the resort literally has everything taken care of, they probably did at least 15-20 wedding within the 9 days of us being down there, with that said, they are totally great at their job of making it a smooth day for you! The floral decorations were amazing, the cake was phenomenal, everything those that the surf and turf was the best meal they had the entire week and they service of the wedding and of the resort overall was impeccable! I cannot stress to tell you that your day will be everything you have ever dreamed of it to be! I do only have two changes that i had done before i went down there and i am VERY happy i did, that was i went with La Luna as my photographer and DJ Bijan and my DJ. Both of them were amazing! That would be my only advice i could give a bride-to-be. Enjoy the time with your family and friends and your new husband and just relax!! It goes by too quick:) Enjoy my link of a slideshow of our photos.

I researched SO many different resorts. We got engaged October and just picked Tulum about a month ago. I find the beach/water so much nicer closer to Tulum. I found the lay out nicer, better reviews, and came highly reccoemnded by my travel agent.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
