Hi Danni

Thank you thats worth knowing, I wonder why you paid a vendor fee for the DJ and not the photographer?

Was it worth hiring a DJ? When was  your wedding?

Hey everyone my hubby and I just returned from Dreams Tulum yesterday.  We arrived on Wednesday May 11th, married on Monday May 16th and departed on Saturday May 21st.  You honestly have NOTHING to worry about.  I will post a review once we receive more photos and/or photos from our professional photographer.  Anabel was our wedding coordinator once we got there and she was great.  We had great weather 90+ degree and sunny each day.  If you have questions feel free to message me!

There were a lot of us there in May!

I just got back from Mexico last night. We were at Dreams Tulum from May 7-14 with 35 of our guests. The resort is beautiful, all our friends and family loved it! It is the perfect resort to get married at, so don't worry about a thing!

Our wedding day was May 10th. Anabel was our wedding coordinator and she did an amazing job! We wish we could go back and get married all over again, it was such a fun day!

We're definitely planning a trip back for our first anniversary!

Veronica - I kept my eyes open for you but I guess we missed each other!

I brought 20 x 8' lanterns (from saveoncrafts... super cheap!)

10 x 12' lanterns and 8 x 16' lanterns (paperlantern store)

I liked the look of different sizes. Even though I brought 38 lanterns, only 35 were hung over the reception site. I don't think there was room for the extra 3!

Veronica - I'm glad you had such a good time!!

I'm interested to hear what you thought of the Royal! It was between the Royal and DT for me when choosing a resort, and I'm really glad we chose DT!

Hi I'm also having my reception on the beach that's really useful to know about the lanterns. Also I am really worried about lighting for on the beach, what did everyone do? I don't want it to be too dark they need to be able to see their food! But equally I don't want to spend a fortune on lighting if I don't need to. What did you all do?

Same situation with us and after having our wedding and then going to The Royal....we are soooo happy we had it at DT.  I would not have enjoyed having a wedding at The Royal at all after seeing a few of them.  It's a very nice resort but we were somewhat disappointed with a few things after being at Dreams, they just weren't as friendly and the service wasn't quite as good at The Royal.  We had fun but we definitely made the right decision to NOT have our wedding there.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
