The new Dreams Tulum thread! (Post all DT Qs&As here)

Regarding the flowers...I also had the same issue. I found out it's because I was asking for a SPECIFIC flower that might not be local or in season for them. I then asked them (Aurora) if they had VERY SIMILAR looking flowers to the ones I chose as long as they were free (i.e., included in the package).  She always had a very, very close option to the original flower I chose. Everytime! So I recommend asking her for flowers that are similar to the ones you are aiming for.  You can't ask for "daises" or "dahlias", because they probably don't grow down there and you're mostly paying for shipping costs.  Instead ask for a flower that looks like a daisy or dahlia. They definitely will have something to make you happy.  All of our flowers were beautiful!  Hopefully I'll get my pro pics soon so I can post the review before some of your weddings. :)

You seriously have been a godsend to me right now. I'm trying my best to not start going bridezilla about stuff, but I am finding the communication thing between the coordinator and myself a little frustrating. Thank you, I will take your advice and ask for something similar to what I wanted, which was gerbera daisy's.....although it's funny that they are listed on the website as being one of the flowers available. Anyways, I will see if that helps. She has yet to respond to me as to why there would be an additional cost. I really thought choosing just one type of flower would make things much more simple and easy.....and in all honesty I don't really care, as long as they are pretty.....and look much better than the selection in the guide! lol

Thanks again!!

well trying the "similar to" approach doesn't seem to be working for me either. What I do find funny is that I sent a pic of a bridesmaid bouquet (so much smaller than a bride's bouquet) from a florist in cancun that quoted me $45 for the bouquet. According to Aurora a bouquet similar to it would be $240 + tax.

Not impressed!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
