They already gave you your wedding planning form? I'm getting married Nov 15, 2010 and I have gotten NOTHING form them. Did you ask for it? I thought they were supposed to send it out. They know I'm getting married, we have emailed each other several times with detailed questions.

 

And they probably did assume you were going to rent the sashes from them. I think there still is a charge per chair though, not sure how much though. $3/each I think? And the $150 fee is just what everyone gets charged it seems, like a baseline, although some girls have noted they didn't have to pay the $150 once down there (I think they determine this depending on how much they actually have to set up).

$3 per chair to put on a sash is still a bit crazy... I thought the $150 set up charge included all minor things like chairs and tablecloths?  If not, I'll just bribe a couple friends to take care of it... free round of drinks for them that day, tee hee

I had previously complained to my FMIL about the sash thing with them wanting to charge me extra for putting them on and she volunteered to do them along with my mother, so if it comes down to it. I'll just have them put them on the chairs and save a few dollars.

I got a little clarification re: set-up costs. First, you are allowed to have other people set up chair bows, centerpieces, etc. for no extra cost. But if it involves lights at the reception (like Chinese lanterns), those have to be done by maintenance and you will be charged. Aurora quoted me at $100 for that, though, not $150, I don't know why. (Maybe she could tell I was getting irritated.)

 

The $3 a person covers everything else - chair bows, menu placement, centerpieces, favors, etc. for both the reception and ceremony. Hope that clarifies for some people. It sounds like if you want reception lights and everything, it could cost $150 plus tax, in addition to the $3 a person. Yikes!

Hi Ocean! Yes, Aurora attached it in response to one of my emails. I didn't ask her for it, but we were talking about booking places, etc. I originally had said I wanted the Dolphin pool as my reception site, and when I first asked about it (back in Jan.) she had said it was open. I mistakenly assumed she remembered that I wanted it. So a week ago, I told her again about it, and SURPISE, it has been taken by someone else. Whatever, I'm over it now.

 

But now I am not going to leave anything else to chance, and I want to make sure I have the Relax pool booked, along with finalizing my package, etc. So that's when she sent me the wedidng planning form.

I am getting married on Nov 18, and she sent my forms about a month ago. No asking, maybe you should send her an email and request she send them to you ASAP. Good Luck

We just booked Diego Munoz for wedding and trash the dress photography.  He is very good at responding to emails!  And his prices are reasonable.

 

Were any of you ladies able to have a wedding ceremony rehearsal with the minister?  We are planning my own ceremony and want to make sure it goes smoothly before the big day.

Also, does anyone have any samples of the music?  I am trying to decide whether to get live music for the ceremony, but it's so hard when you haven't heard it.  What exactly is in a romantic trio?

I know some of us have talked about this before but anyone else having a symbolic wedding made to look real and getting married at home to save on the $$ and the hassles of all the requirements?  Well, we are set, everything is in place and no one knows ... except now my mom knows because some lady at her work decided to tell her that there is no way that we could be getting married 'legally" in Mexico because of all the rules!!!  Are you kidding ... ?  She was just married there apparently and should know that people do this all the time and usually keep it a SECRET!!!!  My mom was so embarrassed!!!  I couldn't lie to my mom when being confronted so now she knows!!!  However, I did follow all the rules of how many days you need to be in the country blah blah blah so that no one else is any wiser!!!

We're doing a symbolic ceremony as well.  Does anyone have an outline or wording for this thing?  I've heard some brides write their own? Damn - I'm not that creative but I'd like to see what you are all doing.  It'll help get my creative mojo going
