The new Dreams Tulum thread! (Post all DT Qs&As here)

Recommended Posts

White covers for the chairs and tables are included with both the Dreams Ultimate & Dreams of Love packages; I think they are also included in the free package, but don't quote me on that one... If you read the very first page of this thread Sunbride has a very detailed review of what is included with each package. Chair sashes etc are extra. If your coordinator hasn't sent you a guide yet, she should be sending you one soon.

Also, if this helps anybody..., I did a little excel spreadsheet for myself comparing paying for everything piece meal with the Free package, or going with the Ultimate package (I want the Mexican trio, the champagne toast, Gold dinner menu etc.) it worked out to be about the same price, but you get extra stuff with the Ultimate such as 50 pics, a video, the spa treatments, hair/makeup.

Hi Curntey,

We had the ultimate package- so it was $150 in addition, and $3 pp in addition to the $2,650. (we paid the 2009 price, we booked in 2009 before the price went up.)  We also had to pay extra per person for the cocktail hour/champagne toast and of course Gold dinners.  All in all, it ended up being around double ($5,300), because don't forget you have to pay gratutity and tax as well.  *we had 16 people above the 20= 36 guests.

I didn't realize this before we paid- I was a little shocked when the bill just kept rising.  Anyway- $5,000 was so worth it.  My hair looked great, the steaming of my dress was great, the resorts photographer was great, the dinner was so delicious and even though we didn't have any extra decorations for the ceremony- just the simplicity of the white chairs with flowers on the walkway was beautiful.

.....And we were drinking margaritas and taking some tequila shots in the lobby bar when we met with Aurora to pay anyway, so it was fine!!!  LOL

I wish I had that when I was planning LOL- I had a couple of sleepless nights trying to figure out the finances of the wedding etc.!!!

girls...will write review soon!! Just got back from wedding on 7/31/10:) Everything was aMAZING!!  I struggled with if I should do the free package or the ultimate and it is a much better deal with the ultimate even with the 12 extra ppl we paid for!! Totally worth it!! The resort photographer and videographer were AMAZING and totally took their time to do a wonderful job and catch the sunset lighting with all our pix:)  We worked with Natalia and she was totally in control and took care of EVERYTHING WE needed!! I brought down so many decorations nad chair bows and she put it all together for us and made it happen!! Even the do it yourself lights I made worked out great and they used them all in our lanterns I brought down!!!  the reception was perfect!!  Our parents surprised us with a dj, originally we thought we would just use our own ipod, but it was totally worth it because we had extra lighting and didnt have to worry about the songs!!  He was pretty cheap too!! Natalia the day of the wedding got him hired and there on time!!  Dinner was amazing!! We picked the silver menu since we had 12 extra ppl and it was perfect!! It was absolutely my DREAM wedding come to life!!! It was beautiful and secluded from everyone on the beach!!  I am so happy as to how it went and thank you to everyoone who helped me get ideas about decor and invites and etc!! Everyone was impressed and it was absolutely beautiful!!  if you can, try to get your wedding time at 6 pm because the sunset is right about that time and the lighting is amazing and it is not as hot as it would be eduring the day!! Thanks girls...any questions I will be happy to answer!! all of our guests weree impressed and had an amazing time....even after the 1.5 hour drive from the airport to the hotel....totally worth it!! cheers; )

Hi, I was just wondering if the $5,000 included your room for the week as well or if that was in addition to the $5,000?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
