The new Dreams Tulum thread! (Post all DT Qs&As here)

Hey V - what email address have you sent the mail to? When I was there in the beginning of July, I saw her walking around, so I know she still works there. This is the email address I was sending to in my correspondence with her:

Hmm, yep that's the one I've been sending it to, because I've basically just been replying to our previous messages.  I may have to just contact the resort directly and then have them forward it to her, and see if that works.

Hi Curtney!  Congratulations!!!  Such an exciting time, enjoy every minute!!  Lanterns- it depends on how many guests you have and how much lighting you want- and where the actual reception will be located.  I would bring my own petals if I were you, to save money- but you could buy them there.  They covered the ceremony arch with white tulle- so I think you're set!!

I'm sure this has been mentioned at some point in the past 400 pages, but I just don't have the time to search :) If I bring paper lanterns for decorations the resort will hang them no problem, right? Do they supply the fishing line to hang them, or should I bring my own?

Hi everyone! I just secured my date at Dreams Tulum for July 2, 2010 @ 5.  Im sooo exicted!! Im also planning on bringing hanging lanterns and was wondering the same thing..im thinking about bringing 50, and having the reception on the beach, would lanterns work there?  Does anyone know how much they charge for hanging them up?

Hi Ashleyciv,

Aurora quoted me $150 for the lanterns, but I've also been quoted a $3/person decoration set up fee...so not too sure if I'm being charged twice...?

Our wedding is not until December, so I figured I'd wait till October (when she told me she would contact me to start planning) to find out.

Hi !

We had our reception at El Patio restaurant- Loved it.  Any of the reception venues they have will be great, really, one is not better than the other =)  The beach sounds amazing!  (Just be careful of the wind, and possible lighting issues- it may be a bit dark depending on the lights you use.)

Hi-

We brought down our own decorations for the wedding and ceremony.  The details are in my review =) We brought a lot.  We did get charged $150 for the flat set up fee (I guess setting the table, setting up the chairs etc.), then we also got charged $3 per person IN ADDITION to that to set up our own decorations.  We probably got ripped off.  I did ask about that when we were paying our bill, and she said that's just how it is- so we paid for it.  What's another $300?  (lol it's a lot, but I just tell myself these things, there's nothing I can do about it now!)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
