Has anyone gotten married in that time? Did you have enough time for pictures afterwards before it got dark?
Thanx!
Our wedding was scheduled for 5pm on May 7 this year... it got pushed back to 5:30. We had plenty of light for pictures. We did group photos, photos on the beach, in the jungle area off the beach, around the resort and at the cocktail hour. The photos at cocktail hour are the only ones you can tell are in twilight lighting. We actually got some great sunset poses in too! I think the temperature difference between the 2 times is helpful too... you don't want to be sweating through your dress!!!

We used these and they add a real ambience to the tables. Everyone loved them. Check them out on my planning thread blog

If you're short on time I have an existing template you could modify. I didnt attatch it to my thread cos I dont know how.

HI northernflasher! Yes, I believe it was you that I "borrowed" the idea from. I thought your table looked gorgeous! Sorry I couldn't remember who's planning thread I saw them on, or I would have given you credit.

One question...did you have any problem with keeping the shades on the wine glasses, and did you spray the paper with a fire resistant spray?

Thanks a bunch!

Hi :)
We didn't have any probs with ours. I took clear sticky dots with me and gave them to Natalia with the glass shades but she never used them. We were outside on the beach but we had really mild weather and didn't lose any!
The fire resistant spray never occurred to me but I dont think it's really necessary

We're getting married on May 10, 2011 at 3:30.... 5pm was actually our first choice but it had already been taken. I think there are pros of both times...
At 3:30 you have more time for pictures and cocktail hour...time for guests to relax/cool down in between the ceremony and reception.
At 5pm it will be cooler and probably less people on the beach watching the ceremony

I wouldn't worry about the time! It will most likely be a short ceremony and it will be beautiful no matter what time you chose!

We had our reception on the beach next to the Relax pool. Our table was set up in the middle of a grove of palm trees and it looked really nice. The sand is packed down firmly, so you're not walking through dunes. The guitartist had a speaker set up so we didn't hear any of the resort noise. To us, it felt like we were on our own private island! I almost chose a reception at one of the pools....but at the last momment I thought.. What other time in my life will I get to have a recption dinner with my family... on the sand? For us, it really made the beach wedding truly feel like a beach wedding.

We leave for Mexico tomorrow night! I can't believe the time is nearly here. I want to thank everyone on this forum for so much help, advice, and useful information. I promise a review when we return, it's the least I can do since I would not have been able to plan this wedding without all of the assistance from the members here :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
