I dont have the exact timing but its really not very far at all I would say 30 secs to a min tops.
THANK YOU!! i'm just eating up your calming words- and really appreciate the tip on the cocktail hour! at first I thought it was a little weird, but i feel better about the hour gap between the end of the ceremony and the cocktail hour now.

But Yeah i am taking decor with me. I am actually planning on bringing everything with me. I was reading that some past brides tried sending stuff to the Resort but didnt clear customs.
I have spoke with past brides that said they took some candy and as long as they had reciepts there were able to take the items.
Also Once you land in Cancun there is a Wal*Mart so that if you forget anything you could go there!! i think from the resort it's a 2hour ride. Im not sure but thats also an Option.
Well I hope you have a Great week...
Hi Danielle,

I am wondering what decor you are planning to bring with you? I am getting married three days after you! and I'm curious if you are going to do any additional lighting? Also, I successfully shipped three boxes via FedEx to the hotel, customs was not a problem, and it only took 4 days to get there, but the shipping was expensive...

Are you planning a reception back home for the guests who won't make it? My Fiance and I are from opposite sides of Canada so I am planning the reception at my parents home and also one at his parents cabin. The additional receptions are more difficult to plan than the actual wedding itself.

Hope your planning is going well,

Amy
Hi Amy! Sorry it took me this long to find this post- but i think you and I are the closest in wedding dates on here! And we're about a month away, i can't believe it! For a reception location, I originally wanted the Dolphin Pool but it was booked so they gave me the Relax Pool, which is fine. My ceremony will be near there, the cocktail hour is there, so it'll be easy and self-contained i think...

for gift bags, i did customized water bottles and these novelty margarhita sunglasses (totally tacky but hilarious) and at the reception i have mini-maracas that i hand painted in our wedding colors.

I need lighting though! The relax pool looks dark, so i'm trying to think of what I can do to brighten it up without having to pay the resort a ton of money and without spending a lot here too...

we are doing an at-home reception for the guests that couldn't make it- but not until July or August and truthfully i haven't even thought about it yet we've been so busy...

where is your reception going to be? are you excited? I'm loosing my mind!

Just a heads up!
I just had my wedding there on 4/10 and I sent my box FedEx too...it made it there quickly; however, expect an additional fee when you get there. My only box had a $33 fee (on top of the rather expensive shipping). Annabel says once girls find out about it they usually request the box to be sent back to the US.

I did not not use a broker because I've never heard of that...went through FedEx just because that's what the brochure had said to do. I sent things a month in advance but I could have waited a couple days since it took less than a week to get there. Also...if you put your OOT bags together before you send them know that they might not be intact when you get your box at Dreams. Some of mine were ripped..unsure if it was in shipping or if the box was opened somewhere along the way.

Hi everyone. I just wanted to add to the post above from page 1 of the forum (which has been awesome. thank you sunbride!)...based on my correspondence with Aurora.

I am doing the free package option and paying the additional site fee for our reception. Aurora has told us that the white tablecloths are "free" up to 20 guests, and then $18 per table...same for the napkins. I am pushing back, but there has been a lot of back and fourth. Hopefully the white options will stay free and my only charge will be the $150 setup fee.

To have an orchid in a vase, I was quoted $30 per stem.

Anyhow, I'm working on other options...just wanted to let y'all know.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
