So, we've found our travel agent, and we've booked our trip! Right now it looks like we have about 15 people attending (Yay!! That's waaaayy more than I expected). So what do I do now.

Our wedding sin't till October, 2009, so I have lots of time. But how do I book the actual wedding date? Do I do it through the travel agent? Do I contact the wedding coordinator myself?

Your travel agent should be able to put you in touch with the wedding coordinator and then you can request your date.

Remember, you need to be in Cuba for 72 hours before they can legally marry you.

We are departing on a Saturday and are booked in to be wed on Wednesday afternoon!

That depends on where you get married, we got married in Holguin and we did not need to be there for any certain amount of time beforehand. So look into it depending on where in Cuba you are getting married.

I say start making a website, if you want to go that route and send out your save the dates, this way people know where you are going and get excited about it and will start saving money and booking when they can

I contacted our wedding coordinator directly and set the date and time well in advance, just to make sure no one else had our date and that I got the time I wanted, so its not to early to do that, as long as you have already booked. What resort are you getting married at? Do some searches online and you should be able to find the WC's email address. Check trip advisor as well.

Happy Planning.

Thanks everyone.

I've created a website already and I've sent out my save the dates. We've had about 20 people book so far!

We're travelling to Cuba the weeke of October 24-31, 2009. I was just wondering how I go about picking the actual wedding date.

October 24 was my wedding date :) I picked the Wednesday just because I had read a lot and all the superstitions with respect to wedding's said Wednesday was the luckiest day :) So just pick the day that works for you. What resort are you getting married at? Maybe we can help you find the info for the WC at the resort.

Hahahaha, the photographer was booked before our trip!

I haven't contacted our TA yet about getting in touch with the wedding co-ordinator yet. I was worried it was too early.

I will contact our TA on Monday and see where that takes me.

We are getting married at the Melia Las Dunas.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
