Tried sending a pretty big package to the resort today. Around 20lbs- it was about $200 and they said there is no guarantee that the package will get to its destination... Decided not to send anything but just stuff it into all our suitcases. Oh well.

Egle, yes I have finalized everything with Veronica, as far as ceremony, reception, food, decor, flowers, cake, etc.

We have 30 guests at our wedding. Our reception will be in the foyer area.

we just used them for the reception. they had speakers for the ceremony. we had to use a mic because it was so windy.

Lindsey, what did you use the speakers for? Just for ceremony or reception too? I need them for reception so i don't know if I need the whole sound system... if you only used speakers

I guess we won't try to send anything either! Why is there no guarantee that the package will get to it's destination? Where would the package go? LOL. I know things get lost in the mail sometimes but I just find that comment from them odd.

They said that since it's Mexico- they cannot give a guarantee. To get a tracking number costs $100, plus about $200 to send the package. That's a lot of money and not worth it, at least to me it's not. I don't want to worry that my stuff won't get there...

Don't forget that Mexico is not USA and if something gets lost, who are you going to blame? Juan or Carlos that works in a post office on the mexican border??

The info I had received ahead of time listed a few photo pkgs (we were only doing the basic wedding - didn't include any photography). We discussed this at our meeting with Veronica and she informed us that we could hire the resort photographer ourselves (not going thru ERC) and if we paid him cash, we would get a much better package for our money! So, she brought Mauricio (photog) over to meet us and to see if we could work something out. He assured us he could and would work with us, so we set up a meeting with him on Monday (the day before the wedding) to hammer out details.

We also had our meeting with the photog on Monday and we got a very good deal with him! First he showed us photos of the wedding that occurred on the Saturday of our arrival - they were gorgeous!! We selected his package of 70 pics + CD with wedding and beach photos. We upgraded a little to get additional photos taken around the resort. If we had selected the resort's package with him, we would have only received about 40 pics and only wedding and beach photos.

ERCbride2b, thank you so much for the review!!! It has helped make our decision to go to ERC so much easier. Would you mind sharing more about the photo package you got privately through the hotel photog? How much did he charge for the entire package? Did you end up with 70 photos of the beach, hotel, and wedding total? Were you pleased with the quality of his work (how would you rate your pics)? Again, thank you so much. We're so excited!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
