We will be there for 8 nights, but we decided to just book a basic room just like our guests. Overall the money difference would've been around $400 or so for us to be in the Excellence Club rooms, but we'd rather be close to everyone and save whatever $$$ we can.

And for a random thought.... I heard there is a hotel(s) next to ERC, but I can't seem to find any maps or info to show me what it is. Are the resorts extremely close? Are we having to compete with more people for the beach space?

I didn't know you could get that amount off. We are staying 7 nights, but thinking about extending it. We also got a basic room because we are trying to save as much as we can as well. Also, we are having over 30 people there and wanted to be in the same area as them.

Does anyone know how many people can fit in the private room at Agave? I want to have a nice dinner the night before with everyone. Do you have to pay extra for that?

I was told that Agave is the only restaurant that can accommodate a big group if they know in advance. It's all inclusive restaurant so I don's see why it would be extra. However, Veronica told me that Agave is not open on Fridays. My wedding is on a Saturday so that has kind of left us to look for other Welcome Dinner" ideas.

I see on the website under the Excellence Package where it says: "This package is complimentary when booking an Excellence Club Junior Suite Ocean View category or higher, for a minimum of 7 nights, or with a bridal party of minimum 5 rooms of any category for 7 nights."

Does this also apply to the Gold package? That what it sounds like from what you girls are saying but I don't see it anywhere on the website.

The basic package is free with a 7 night min. stay. If you choose another package, you can deduct the the charge for the basic which is around $800 and the Gold comes out to around $1500 or something instead of full price.

Does anyone know how many people Agave holds and do you have to pay extra to reserve it? Just curious. We are getting married on a Friday, so I was thinking about that for a Thursday night meeting place for our crew for dinner...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
