My only concern with Veronica is she's very blunt in her emails. I asked her about bouquet options and if colors can be changed and customized. All I received was "if the flower is another color" Umm, okay. I asked for about 5 small sized orchids to be placed in my bouquet and she quoted me an additional $150! I think I"ll be sticking with a standard bouquet for that pricing.

We are now officially going to be at the ERC on June 16th, 2009. Veronica sent us our confirmation # today. Now that we've got a place I feel lost. I've been researching and emailing resorts for the past 3 months or so... I need something to fill my time. Does anyone know the timeline of when I will need to make the decisions with Veronica? Will she be in touch with me or must I do all the talking? We are going with the Gold Package. It seems like it is just an upgraded version of the Love package, but since there are not many details of what each is I have nothing to be sure of. Like what is the Gold dinner compared to the Silver dinner? So many questions... I'm just happy to finally be booked and can move on.. Whew.. Ok i'm done....

Congrats on booking your date, cowman1999! You are getting married in 7 months!

Veronica should be able to send you the dinner and hors d'oeuvre menu, along with a list of wedding extras and their costs. Other than that, I don't think any of us have gotten anything about flower or cake options or anything like that yet.

As far as staying in contact, I have been the one to initiate the emails (usually with a list of questions) but I figure since my wedding isn't until October, maybe she has no reason to email me right now.

I've been driving myself nuts lately because I feel like there is so much to do, yet nothing I can do RIGHT NOW, you know?

If you want, PM me your email and I can send you the menus, flower, and cake options.

Does anyone know which category of rooms are located in which buildings? I'm looking at the resort map on the Excellence website, but the buildings just have room numbers and not where the categories are. I assume the cheapest rooms are the furthest from the beach while the Excellence Club rooms are nearest to the beach. However where are the cutoffs to the swim ups and so on. I'm just looking for info....

Hi ladies,

I am new to the site and this whole thing in general!

We have not officially booked anything yet, but are trying to choose between ERC and Secrets Maroma. We are leaning towards ERC and from what I am reading from all of you guys, that seems to be the way to go. Secrets is a newer resort, and therefore, it seems a few glitches still need to be worked out.

We have not set a date yet, but would prefer July or October, so we will see what they can do.

I do know we also are for sure getting married here first and just having a Symbolic Ceremony. I have a friend that did not do it that way and regretted it-just too much drama and headache. And the 4 days waiting period, ceremony is spanish, etc, is too much for me.

We are looking at 50 or so guest and all I care about is having a fun reception afterwards with food and alcohol! We are a pretty laid back couple, but I guess I need to actually book a date first before anything else. haha!!

Just wanted to introduce myself to you ladies!

Hi Kelly!

Good luck with planning! It's more fun planning the details once the date is set! My FI and I are planning to have a larger group at our wedding also. We sent out save the dates to 75 people, but ideally would like 35-40ish. I haven't heard of anyone on the forum with that many guests at ERC so we're hoping for the best! Really though, how can you go wrong with fun people, great weather, a beautiful beach, and tropical drinks? :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
