Dreams Cancun or Moon Palace?

Recommended Posts

Hi There!

Originally we had planned to get married at RIU Montego Bay however the cost has suddenly sky rocketed for next year so we have been looking at other options. I am absolutely in love with the look of Dreams Cancun...but for shopping arounds sake, i have stumbled across Moon Palace a couple times as well- especially here where the pros are! :) I tried to do a basic flight search but came up empty handed...beofre i go see a TA, which is more affordable? If you have already been married at either, or have visited either...what do you thinkhuh.gif

i have not been to dreams cancun, but i did spend one awesome week at Moon Palace. We LOVED LOVED LOVED it. the rooms are all really nice, with a jacuzzi tub, 24 hour room service, inroom liquor dispensors, friendly staff, big pools, good booze included (ie shots of patron!)

so i'd vote moon palace. You guests cannot be disapointed with that resort, it's awesome!

i think the rius in jamaica are actually cheaper than both dreams and moon palace ... at least they were last time i checked (which was months ago, so i could be wrong). also it could have a lot to do with the time of year you're looking at (totally different season than i was looking in).

moon palace is great and they do a horse-drawn carriage for the bride, but we eventually decided on dreams. good luck with your decision-making! it was definitely the hardest thing so far!

It will actually be several hundred dollars cheaper per person from here! Yay! It sounds like they are both equally beautiful, thanks!

doesn't moon palace has a no outside photographer policy?

i think right now dreams allows outside photogs for a $50 day pass.

i used funjet.com to compare prices easily. it helped to narrow stuff down. with airfare getting so high it helps to save on the hotel.

I picked Moon Palace because of the group booking benefits (free nights and private functions) and the fact that it is SOO big that people can find places to "get away" if family drama creeps in. wink.gif

I do have to say that the carriage was also a huge seller.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
