Anyone flying a photographer from home? Dreams Cabo Bride

Recommended Posts

We are bringing our own photographer too. He is basically just charging expenses so it should be cheaper. Also he wanted to be able to add a DW to his portfolio. He will be in Cabo Oct 4th and 5th if anyone needs him! As far as the shots, there are so many slideshows on here to get ideas for shots you want for them to review.

We're also bringing in our own photographer, although not from our hometown. We live in Calgary, and are flying our photographer/videographer from Los Angeles. The proximity of LA to Cabo made this the logical choice (cheapest flights from closest major city) as well as having the most talented pool of photographers in North America.

We are using Floataway Studios, which is a husband/wife photography/videography team. We paid for their flights, accommodations for three nights, a daily food stipend ($60 for both), and rental car (as they are not staying at Dreams with us). They gave us a fantastic rate because they love any opportunity they have to travel, as well as doing a day-after session with us as a wedding gift.

I chose to go with outside photography because I wasn't happy with the style of photography that any of the vendors in Cabo provided, and am so excited to be working with the studio I chose!

We are bringing our photographers to MX ..they live 8 hours drive away from us. We drove down to meet them because we really liked their work and were giving us a good deal. They agreed to do our wedding for the cost of their trip (we paid for them for 6 nights at our resort and flights). They are giving us their most expensive photo package which includes both of them shooting us (they are a married couple), all day coverage (they said they'd stay all night), a LOT of photos, a TTD session, and engagement session (which we are just going to do when we get there), thank you cards, and more. We definitely figured it would be a good deal for us since the most important part of the wedding for us is the pictures. We also didn't like the photographers at our resort.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
