Our frame had several panes of glass. I took clear tape and taped off the two outside panes so only the inside was open. The sand is very fine and poured very easily into the correct spot. When I got home I took off the tape.. in fact I brought extra tape and taped over where the sand was to keep it in place for the travel home. Worked out well.

Thanks Angela for the guide on how to do it! I was wondering. Maybe I'll do a 'practice run through' this weekend. Did you use regular clear tape or some other kind?

Kohls coupon code: NEW7706 works for 10% off. Not much on the $15 frame, but thought I would post anyway. You can get 15% with Kohns card, and free shipping over $75, but I only needed the frame

I went and picked this frame up today, and I love it even more than I thought I would. I think it will be perfect! I also went to Michaels and picked up two small glass containers/vases with corks for 99 cents each. Now I have to figure out how much sand.

I haven't tried it with sand yet (just ordered my sand a few days ago) but there are four panels in the umbra frame so i am going to take out one of the middle ones so there is a larger opening to dump the sand in. Hope that helps.

Question...could you just scoop some sand off the beach when you get to the DW? I think it would be cool to have some sand from the beach where you got married...anyone done that?
