45 minutes per day smile41.gif I guess i'll get there but 10 minutes was enough to kill me. When was able to do squats & lunges I could get up to 60 per day or 60 per leg with the lunges..that was it.

I'm in big trouble!
Your not in trouble, that is great....you will build up to that time. I did metabolic testing and found that for me when my heart rate is between 151 and 161 I burn the most stored fat. I burn 10 calories per minute, and 7.8 of those ten are stored fat cals!!!! My graph showed that I am above average. Taking a guess I would bet that 131 to 141 would be your target heart rate. A small amount lower than that is what is average.

we recently bought one too... our motivation is abc.com

you can watch LOST, which is the perfect amount of time for a great warm up, workout, and cooldown. about 42 min total. the only disadvantage is that about 3 times you have to get off the machine and click the "continue" button with your computer mouse. a very easy way to solve this problem is to move your elliptical out of your computer room & in front of your TV! and who knows.... it may already be there. if not- you can also try netflix. online movies are included with most plans, and they involve no clicking, etc! best of luck!

A really great way to know if you are working hard enough is to figure out your max heart rate. The formula is always "220 - age". For me at 30, that means that if I am working at 100% my heart rate should be 190. Anywhere between 60-70% of your max heartrate is great for fat burning. For me, I aim for 130 which is about 65 percent when I am trying to burn fat.

The formula that Missy posted for your target heart rate is the one trainers use in the gym to help clients figure it out (i used to be one a few years ago lol) so I'd go with that too. Interval training is the way to go, but build up since 10 minutes is where you're starting off. You should try to build up to doing a 5 minute warm-up (somewhat easy) then do intervals at one minute hard (you can't hold a full conversation) 2 minutes moderate (you can talk, but need to pause for breath) alternate for about 25 minutes, then cool-down 5 minutes. Good luck! The elliptical kicks major butt! lol

I stay on for 30 mins...but my trainer said really it needs to be 45-60 minutes...ARGH, who has 60 minutes to spend on there? I do the weight loss program, which is 4 minutes low intensity and 4 minutes medium intensity...it seems to work for me.

QUESTION - what kind of elipticals does everyone have? I've been looking to get one, but they are a big investment, so i want to be sure I'm getting one that is going to last, and not feel like it's going to fall apart when I step on it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
