We live in a different state so they can't go do something real together & they aren't much for talking on the phone. So they talk over their headsets as the kill people.
Morgan: what is the new game he's playing? FI is the same way, he used to play lots and then finally realized it was eating up all of his life/time/time with me. But once in a while he still pays for a month at a time and goes all out. He has a headset and his excuse is that it's time with his brother.
Luckily, he has been having guys over lately to play some weird game in the basement... I think that's so much better. It's more like once a month and they actually get to see eachother and interact in the real world. :)

gears of war

That is the one he plays with his dad.

then there is an older game called diablo that he wants to start playing with two friends.

He said both of these games are not so much of a time suck. he didn't like how his life got when he was playing so much WOW. Then they started having drama in his guild. he'd be on the mic for hours calming people down that were fighting. it wasn't fun anymore. So him & his friends quit WOW. He switced to the old warcraft for a while.

Now he tries to find games that don't require so much from you. If I would try to pop in & visit with him he couldn't talk to me because he was leading an army of warcrafters into battle. With the new games he is great. I don't care if he plays. I'm sitting on the computer on BDW & making photo projects.

He says I've spent as much time on here as he spent on WOW, but my argument is that I'm producing something. I planed a whole wedding & now I'm making lots of cool photoprojects for us & for gifts. but, i do agree that I can get just as addicted as he was. For a while I wasn't interested in going out. It was more fun to sit at home on the forum designing my invitations. But, i did still get together with friends to workout. I just prefer to create something on the weekend than to just hangout somewhere.

When mike first quit WOW, I almost wanted him to go back. He was all of a sudden in my space, watching my TV (the one that has a tvio) & wanting me to get off BDW. It took me a while to adjust to having him back. I had found a lot of ways to fill my time since he was always busy with WOW & it wasn't easy to just drop it all. I think we have a good balance now.

I just had a WOW moment about an hour ago. FI & I went to hang out with our neighbors. We're all just hanging around drinking beers and our other neighbor's phone starts going off. We're like,"Is that your ringer?" He goes,"No, my alarm. I have a raid in 10 minutes. Gotta go." LMFAO!!!

Jenny, that is too funny! Mike doesn't set an alarm but he he does adhere to his raid schedule.

It's only supposed to be Tuesdays and Sundays and one other day. I forget, because he always manages to have to do "one little thing" every night of the week. He was trying to by some sort of speedy bird thing. That's why he couldn't help clean the house.

My FH isn't into WoW but he's into other games, such as SimCity, Civ, Diablo II (but I like that game as well) and some other time consuming games. I'm more of a console gamer than a PC games (if I even call myself a gamer). Anyway, we've set a rule that neither one of us gets onto the computer until our daughter is in bed and asleep. Usually, once she's out we spend some together time and then we go on with our 'night life' online. It actually works for us... but there are some other things we need to work on.

I don't have to worry about WOW but my FI loves certain games on XBOX 360. Right now he hasn't played in so long but he loves Gears of War and is waiting for Gears of War 2 to come out (which it comes out in Nov when we get married so kinda funny) So, I joked about him brining it to Mexico. He plays with a bunch of his guy friends and all the wifes/SO's complain about all the time they spends.

Yep. Similar situation - drama in the guilds. Really annoying. LOL! Never heard of Gears of war, but FI just said that one of his friends plays it. So maybe he'll try it...

The important part is when they realize what they're doing and how they're kind of getting zombi-ish and want to change, right? Same with us!
Sometimes I have to just stop and turn off the computer.

Like right now, FI is sick and has been for a while now. He should have been in bed 2 hrs ago he has a fever, but he's on his computer while I'm typing this, because he wants to be near me. sad.gif
I'll have to go play Sudokus in bed so he will sleep!

That's too funny! I know exaclty what you mean though. FI has gone through times of being way less addicted and I always feel bad when I can't drag myself off the forums, because I can be just as bad in a way.

As to artsy stuff though, I agree. I'd much rather produce something. I think that my current problem is having so many ideas of new things I want to teach myself (photo projects, Corel Paint Pro, etc. - stuff you do really well!) and accomplish (getting my jewellery up on Etsy and a new 'name') and all these things arejust too big for me to tackle, so I end up just surfing.

focus.gif Sorry girls. I think I just had a self-reflective moment wink.gif

I feel the same way! I want him to pay attention to me when it works for me! LOL

If we buy the new house maybe we won't be able to afford WOW...B ut then again, he'll probably try to offer decoration advice, so maybe I need to keep paying for it...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
