I have no clue why my wedding band is doing this, but I keep getting these little bumps under the band that are crazy itchy and then they get little white bumps on top of the bump and then they burst (sorry so gross!!) they are super tiny and they go away when Im not wearing it.
Anyone have an idea why this may be happening??
I know its real gold (I picked it out) and its white gold. I have worn my white gold E ring for over 3 years on this finger and never had an issue and I wear another white gold ring on my other hand and never had a problem. I dont want to stop wearing it but its just driving me nuts!!! HELP!!!!!

I wonder if your band is rhodium plated. Some white gold is, and some white gold isn't.

It sounds an awful lot like a nickle allergy which is what is in white gold that makes it white. And if your ring isn't plated (and your others are), it may be that you've got an allergy.

Worst case... upgrade to platinum. Best case, talk to a jewler about having it (or the inside anyway) plated in rhodium to keep the nickle away from your skin.

    Happily married since 2008

I'm allergic to certain metals. So I would agree above. My rings don't do that. But I have some rings that do. Go ask your jeweler!

That would make a lot of sense. I have a horrible alergic reaction to certain metals (like the buttons on jeans or buckels on belts) I dont know why I never thought of that. Grr, now Im gonna have to spend more money to fix this.lol Thanks ladies I dont know why I never thought about an allergy!!

Oh that stinks Laura! I hope your jeweler can figure it out.

It definitely sounds like an allergic reaction.. I've had that happen to me too with certain metals.. but can't think if which ones off the top of my head..grr

Hopefully what Becks suggested will work!

there is also white gold without nickle.

it could also be a fungus. 2 of my friends had this fungus from their rings. they had to get it cleaned really well & it went away.

My brother in law had the same issue so he traded his ring for platinum but it did the same thing...
