Riu Palace brides in Playa del Carmen

Recommended Posts

I thought you'd be mad that I changed my mind AGAIN!!!

But seriously, reading the threads it seems like there are lots of private reception options at Riu Palace in Cabo, anyone know if there are the same types of options in the Riu Palace Mexico in the Mayan Riviera??

Thanks ladies!!! Could I be getting close to picking a locationhuh.gif please please please!

Hi Margaret,

I've booked at the Riu Palace Riviera Maya and I didn't really worry about picking the extras. My impression has been that when you meet with your WC when you get down there you can work all those details out. However, there isn't really any extras that I felt like I had to have or that needed to be booked beforehand, so that may have led to my lack of concern. Hope this has helped!

Same impression here, booked at Riu Palace Riviera Maya. Shelley, I notice your wedding date is in Aug 2007--mine is Nov 2007. Be sure to drop us a line how your wedding went and what your review of the place is.

One more question for anyone booked at these resorts. Did you worry about picking all the extras when you tried to reserve your date, or can you pick all that stuff later?

Thanks.
You can pick them when your down there. If you want a Marachi band that needs to be done in advance. Also its a good idea to send a picture the bouquet you want to make sure they can do it. Also make sure you email you WC and ask what is included ex. tea lights. That way you know what you should bring yourself

I've just posted a new video from the RIU Palace Riviera Maya resort on my homepage Playa Weddings - Videography in Playa del Carmen and the Riviera Maya

I was really impressed with this wedding. Everything was well done and you can see some of the private reception at the end of the clip. (if you take the time to download the high-res quicktime file the quality is much better). I work with Edith, the wedding coordinator at the RIU. I don't know if she also does weddings at the RIU Mexico. There are more clips from this wedding and another wedding at the RIU Palace Riviera Maya at

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
