Dreams Puerto Aventuras Wedding 2009...Nervous..HELP!!

Recommended Posts

reluctant beach bride,

I created a task list for myself with due dates and assigned who was responsible for each task. If you are anything like me I had to assign due dates to hold myself accountable for doing the less fun things. Also, I had to force myself to delegate tasks, so this really helped me.

But like what was said before, confirm with Natalia your wedding date! After that she will send you an excel spreadsheet with the details of time, place, personal info, type of wedding package (if any) etc. (dont worry I left a chunk of it blank and Natalia said that was okay).

I forgot about that spreadsheet... I filled one out too! Elizabeth, did you get a confirmation number?

Thanks to everyone for the all the great advice. I took ALL of it. My date has been confirmed with Natalia, we are confirmed for May 16, 2009 at 5 p.m. She sent the spreadsheet, I filled it out and it is indeed more than half empty and I still have some decisions to make so she said there is no rush to get it back to her. I did not get any kind of confirmation number (unless she gave it to my TA who contacted her before I did) and she said that no deposit would be necessary until the resort reopened (was anyone else told that?) As for the planning, I took Sunbride's advice and started with a DIY and made "save-the-dates/invitations", I don't know what to call them, they were postcards I made up with some beachy paper that announced when and where we were marrying and told people that if they were interested in traveling to visit our wedding website and for those unable to attend, they would be in our thoughts and we would celebrate when we returned and it said "Reception Invitation to Follow", I had so much fun making them. Aside from that I have been finding pictures of anything and everything that I want for the wedding the the AHR, I got tiki torches on sale for the AHR and I got some gigantic margarita glasses to use for centerpieces, so it is slowly coming together. I went through BDW withdrawal because for some strange reason I could not get on the site for over a week, so I am so glad to be back...thanks again for all the feedback.smile03.gif

Hi,

Would you mind sending me a message with what you are paying and how many guests you are having? I am just completely in the dark with how much this is going to cost us!! And I do not understand why we HAVE to book a honeymoon suite, if we are choosing the Ultimate Package...did you HAVE to book a honeymoon suite? I am sure we would want that room anyway, but it would be nice to have the option of booking a regular room to cut down some costs.

Thanks!!

I have pretty much done it all myself so I am glad to pass on any knowledge I have!

Contact Natalia first, she is super nice and responsive to all questions. Dreams puts on a great wedding, so that part you shouldn't be nervous about! PM me if you have any questions too!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
