Recent Tripadvisor Reviews on Dreams Cancun

Recommended Posts

Even though I'm not getting married at Dreams Cancun, I can offer you this advice. Don't take everything people say on tripadvisor to heart. Some people are picky beyond belief and looking for something bad to say. There's TONS of Dreams Cancun brides on here that absolutely LOVED every second of their wedding. I'd talk to them so you have a direct review of the place. From what I've seen here, non of these brides came back and gave a bad review.

Good luck!

I was actually looking into Dreams Cancun, until I read one woman's awful (and recent) wedding experience on tripadvisor. Even though I thought the location was spectacular, I stopped considering it after that. Maybe it would be a good idea to send a message to the woman on tripadvisor to get more info...

You will find a bad review on every resort out there because every person can't be pleased. Some people just look for a reason to complain. If you did a search on this website and compared how many people have had fantastic weddings at dreams to those who haven't you would find that 99% of us were very happy with dreams. Off the top of my head I can think of maybe 2 bad reviews at dreams and you'll also find bad reviews on different riu resorts, etc....

Honestly, I would trust a brides opinion on this forum before I would listen to someone who posted on tripadvisor. You have no idea if the person on tripadvisor is really even a bride.

I agree with the others that people love to complain on Trip Advisor. I have freaked myself many of times by reading bad reviews of my resort. I figure, just as with surveys, the only people who really respond are the two extremes - those that love it and those that hate it - unfortunately it is usually the ones who have the dislikes who are most voiceful.

I realized how extremely picky some people are on trip advisor when a woman gave a bad review because there was a mouse scurring on the beach. Really?

And remember there are always more good than bad reviews.

Keep in mind I am NOT hard to satisfy at all... In Feb I went to a hotel that is supposed to be like the cream of the crop. It was 500 dollars a night and NOT an AI. It is in Canada, anyway, I would NEVER stay there again. All the dressers and tables were covered in dust. There was Mascara on the washcloth in the bathroom.... the room was just a mess. I am thinking nobody had stayed in there in a long time. I did call the front desk and complain but they had every room booked for the night. I am sure with their reputation that this was a very odd occurance... My point is even the best of the best hotels have their oops's. Other than the room everything else was amazing..

Like the others, I would have to say Do not believe everything you read on trip advisor. I know that when we went to Vegas we stayed at Mandalay Bay, and on there it was like 3+ stars and had a lot of bad reviews, but it was the most amazing hotel we ever stayed at! I think more people post their negative reviews on there than positive.

And I have only heard good about Dreams from all the brides married there on here!

I agree with everyone else, don't take what is written on trip advisor as gospel....I personally have only ever rated hotels on websites if they were awful, or amazing....never in-between. Looking at Le Blanc on trip advisor, some of the reviews aren't that great, but it is a 5 star hotel!! Some people just can't be pleased!!

Dreams is a really really popular choice on this site, so i am sure there are plenty of people on here who can make you feel at ease about your choice! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
