Mosquito Beach Hotel, Playa del Carmen brides?

Recommended Posts

We're planning our (small) ceremony and reception to be held at Mosquito Beach Hotel on the beach near downtown Playa del Carmen. I'm wondering if anyone else is having or has had their wedding there? It is a small, modern boutique resort. I stayed there last year when I was in town for business (I'm a wedding photographer who shoots destinations) and I fell in love with it. Would love to hear from some other brides...having some trouble getting in touch with the restaurant/wedding coordinator. Thanks!

Heather - I just got a note from the WC at Maramao, which is the restaurant at Mosquito Blue. I've attached the menus and pricing here. Sit down menus are priced from ~$30-$60 per person. Open bar is $35-$55 per person for 2.5 hours.

I don't think it'll work for us, but might for you. It looks great. We just might be pushing the capacity limit (of 80). Happy planning!

We had our reception there in May. We used WCs separate from the restaurant (caribbeanblueweddings.com). The food was pretty good, there were mixed reviews on some dishes. We paid the bar at the end of the night. The bar doesn't have a good beer selection. The setting was great right on the beach, and the place itself was nice. The dance floor was wooden slats making it difficult for girls with high heels on to dance, we all had to take our shoes off. The location is perfect though, after the reception you can go anywhere in town just walking distance away.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
