Trinidad & Tobago anyone?

Recommended Posts

I've heard that Tobago is better than Trinidad, particularly because crime has been increasing in Trinidad and Tobago is much less "spoiled." Unfortunately I do not have any specific resort recommendations though. I do get a lot of my info from Tripadvisor.com though.

My hubby was born in Trinidad; and his whole family is in Trinidad. From what I've heard that hotel choices on Trinidad are limited. Tobago is supposed to be 'better' and doesn't have the crime issues that Trinidad does right now. Go for Tobago! rolleyes.gif

I lived in Trinidad for a number of years and visited Tobago this year during my vacation. Tobago is far more suited for weddings. It has beautiful beaches and scenery wheras Trinidad does not have nice beaches. Tobago is also very laid back and relaxed whereas Trinidad is more hectic. Search online for local wedding planners. They may be able to give you more information.

I havent been to Trinidad nor Tobago in a number of years but from what I have heard crime is rampant in Trinidad. However, Tobago is the tourist spot. So you should really consider Tobago for your wedding. Beautiful beaches, more resorts, etc.

HI Katml!

I see that you are a make-up artist and I do need some advice. I am getting married in the Dominican Republic in June, and have never really worn much make-up. I keep it simple...eyeliner, lipgloss, maybe mascara, maybe eyeshadow, and that's on special occasions! I haven't confirmed a m/u person in the DR, but with the right make-up, and some other skilled "friends", do you think I would be OK with doing my own (with help!).

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
