I just got my parasols and chinese lanterns from Asian Ideas...

Chinese Wedding Umbrellas

White Paper Lantern, White Paper Lanterns, White Chinese Paper Lantern, Round White Lanterns

I bought 8 large parasols, 12-12" chinese lanterns and 12-18" chinese lanterns. The total came to just over a hundred dollars and included shipping. The parasols are soooo cool! They are 42 inches in diameter and are the dramatic size I was looking for. I'm having these handed out to my guests as they enter the ceremony area. I only planned for one per couple since they're so huge!

It's a craft store very similar to Joann's and Michaels. They are in the Midwest and South. I am from MI and we don't have them there but it's here in IL, the suburbs only

Well, I have 24 chinese lanterns that I could leave at Dreams for you if Mariana will store them! I'm not sure if my guests will take their parasols home or not, but if you're interested in a couple I can ask if she'll keep those too!

oh i would LOVE that if you dont want to keep them- especially the parasols- i relaly just want at least 3 for pics.

but we are both doing the red roses- we could SO share costs on flowers if our dates were closer together. i am still deciding about flowers- i know bouquets we are going with dreams. are you doing boutineres for the boys? what about for the moms?

I'll check with Mariana- if she'll hold them for you...

I know- we could have totally shared flowers! I'm not doing bouts for the boys or dads or corsages for the moms. We just decided it wasn't necessary and they didn't care anyway. It's such a small wedding that it just doesn't seem necessary. If we bought flowers for the parents, the wedding party, and the "master and mistress of ceremonies", that would only leave like 5 people NOT wearing flowers- just seemed silly to me!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
