Dreams Huatulco are there anymore brides?

Recommended Posts

I cant wait to hear what you all find out when you head down there this weekend Silver. I really want to know of the different options for the reception as well. I think Jen is on her honeymoon for a week so she wont be back until next friday but I bet she will have a great detailed review for us!

And I agree.. I feel like something is missing too.. I love simple/classy/modern hotels but they do need some more flowers or shrubs. The grass looks sparse in the pictures and my sister did say that it was like that all over cause it hadnt all grown in yet. Everything is still so new that I am sure it will only get better as time goes on.

I think we are all interested about reception areas. Rocio sent one picture of the terrace, but it was so far away. Plus you only get it till 10:30pm and then they want you to move on to the Disco. Does anyone else but me have an issue with this??

Silver - I am getting married at the Gazebo, but I have some pics of the beach if you'd like them

Also, does anyone have pics of options for table center-pieces??

This forum is great -- I get MOST of my answers faster from all you ladies :) lol

Jesse, I just sent you the pics I received for table center-peices.

I dont think you would HAVE to move to the disco would you? I think we will move from the reception up to the lobby bar - on the patio side, so we would be outside. I hope they do change their minds about renting out a restaurant though. It would be nice if they had a place outside under a palapala (sp??) or partially outside.. or even just the terrace behind the lobby bar (which they said they cant do b/c there is no close kitchen access). Im sure silver will ask all the questions we are all having!

Ok - I am taking notes based on your questions. I will try to ask as many of them as possible when I there this week. Yay! Can't wait to get out of this cold!

Jesse - I would love the pictures of the beach if you have them. I have seen pics of the ceremony set up but not of the reception. I have pictures of the centerpieces, but I think you already received them.

Have I scared everyone away? Lol.

I have one more question. I am a little controlling when it comes to the reception and the tables and centerpieces. I am thinking about bringing down a bunch of stuff that I want. Is anyone else planning on doing a little decorating themselves?

Thanks!

Hi Huatulco Brides!

I just joined this forum based on a recommendation by another bride. I'm getting married at Dreams Huatulco in May 2009. I guess I'm looking for other brides' experiences working with Dreams. I love the fact that it's a one-stop-shop sort of place where they will do everything for you (not a big planner myself) but I'm getting more and more frustrated dealing with them.

The latest frustration is that I was told I have to pay an additional $90 per person for any of our wedding guests not staying at Dreams. This seems so ridiculous to me considering we will already be spending thousands of dollar there.

I was then just informed that the entire menu, for a whopping 15 of us mind you, must be the same for every person. How is this supposed to work when some are vegetarians, some like meat, others don't eat fish? How hard can it be to have a varied menu for such a small group. I've seen this done with weddings of 300 guests.

Anyway, I guess I just needed a place to vent. Are others having the same experiences? Are there any brides that have already been there that could put my mind to ease about all of this?

Thanks and congratulations to all of you!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
