Deposit now required for Dreams Punta Cana Brides

    When I first booked our trip at Dreams I asked if and when adeposit needed to be made to reserve our wedding date and time. I was told that no deposit was needed all I had to do was book my room.
    I found out today that a deposit is needed (by checking the Dreand PC website) and was not informed by the resort. I e-mailed who I think is my new WC (Juliana is gone) and asked why I was not notified and to make sure that my wedding date and time is still reserved.

    Has anybody else had these troubles with Dreams PC.

    I am starting to become very worried about having my wedding there.

    Any advice or tips from recent Dreams PC brides?

    Please help!

      Before I booked my wedding with the Dreams, I had read on their website that a deposit was needed, however when you speak with WC, no deposit is needed at all.

        I was worried about this too.....i asked Miguelina and she said no deposit was required.....she said you pay for everything at the resort.....:)

          I just emailed Maria today about that. On the Dreams PC forum you see somone say they have to pay a deposit 1 month before they go and another writes that because they booked before they required it they don't have to pay! I just want to get it in writing about what is or is not required! it is so frustrating!!!!

            Paradisus resorts say there is a deposit, but I was able to have it waived based on the number of rooms we had already reserved through our TA, so my thinking is that most of this will be negotiable based on your plans.

              I just emailed the resort to verify everything and make sure my date isn't in jeopardy because I most definitely was told everything wouldn't need to be paid until we got to the resort.

              I will report back when I get some news.

                We received an email from Maria yesterday that stated we would have to pay a deposit. they would contact us one month in advance of our departure to let us know what the deposit would be! I just find that ridiculous that she can't tell me how much the deposit will be! And half the time Maria doesn't even read your whole email and respond to all your questions! I hope their new people don't suck! I have heard great things about Juliana and was happy to be working with her, I just hope our new WC isn't Maria cause i am not impressed so far!

                  We are getting married June of 2009 and have Miguela as our coordinator. She's been pretty good about getting back to all our questions quickly. Her papers or fax or e-mail (whatever she is contacting my travel agent with), did say that we have to put down a $100 deposit. However, I also just got a confirmation stating that our date and time is booked, yet I haven't made my payment yet. So I'm going to check with my travel agent and see if it's for sure even though I haven't paid a deposit yet. I mean, I have a confirmation number and everything.

                    Dreams has been very unstable these past few months...I;m sure they are overwhelmed with the weddings but some consistency would be nice...One minute I was dealing with one WC then she must've left, then I was dealing Miguelina and she was good but out of nowhere she stopped responding to my emails for like 2 months, now I deal with Maria but she really doesn't answer all my questions....then she acted like I had to send the form in to book my date which freaked me out, after several emails back & forth she replies she does have my form and my date has been booked since early this year. Then the whole issue with Photosouvenir...now this with the new deposit rules. grrrrr

                    Its frustrating...I'm sure everthing will work out for everyone, its just annoying at times.
