Looking for Ceremony site that is not in the sand

Recommended Posts

I am getting married in June 2009 in the Riviera Maya. I've been trying to find a beautiful wedding site where I can have a ceremony, with a view of the ocean, but I don't want it right on the beach in the sand. Does anyone have any suggestions for places where we can have the ceremony (and possibly reception at the same place) on a terrace, in a gazebo, or in a garden?

Thank you! monkey.gif

We're getting married at the Barcelo Maya Palace in January 2009. Although our wedding and reception is in the sand, we were given the option to have it over-looking the ocean in this beautiful terrace. I'm sorry I don't know more details, but I would imagine most resorts give you a non-beach option. Good luck!

Check out H10 Ocean Coral OCEAN HOTELS - by H10 :: Set on one of the most beautiful white sand beaches in all of Bávaro-Punta Cana. Surrounded by thousands of palm trees.... they have 5 terraces overlooking the ocean and ask for Karla, she is the wc there and goes above and beyond, answers every email!!!! The resort is also new so there wasn't any wedding photos at the time i asked a couple months ago but the resort is gorgeous.

I'd also check out Kool Club Beaches in Playa del Carmen, Mamitas beach club and Kool beach club, it's a restaurant/lounge that my wedding coordinator offered. I can send you pics if you're interested in having the wedding/reception away from the resort. I don't think there is a pic of a terrace on the website but I have some. You'd have to do a package through the wc but it ends up being the same price you'd be paying at a resort.

I too refuse to marry in the sand or a gazebo actually so I've been looking at terraces the whole time.

I am getting married at RIU Palace Riviera Maya in Playa del Carmen. They have a BEAUTIFUL gazebo on grass that overlooks the ocean and has tons of palm trees in the back ground. If you search RPRM on here, you should be able to find pictures of it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
