If you were turning 30...

WHEN I turned 30, my friends threw a party for me. It was a chocolate themed party since I live and breathe chocolate. The best part was the cake! But afterwards we went out drinking and dancing. I really had a blast! However, if she is not the partying, drinking and dancing type I also say go for a spa day. I always love those kind of gifts!!

Yeah 30 will catch up with you all ha ha ha ha

I personally had a fab birthday pressie - it was chicken pox!! no bloody joke and its not something I'd recommend lol

I'd go with the spa day if she likes that sort of thing or how about something for work, briefcase, really good expensive pen something she will use every day

I went camping with my buddies in the moutains for my 30th birthday.

Although it didn't turn out well in the end, we all got a bit drunk and loud and the old lady camping next to us got my buddies thrown out of the campsite at 2 a.m. rant.gif But the couple with the baby on the other side of us were just fine!

Anyhoo, I'd recommend a trip or a spa day or even a big group going to dinner.

Maybe she's working lots to keep her mind of the clock ticking.

I found that once my 30th birthday actually came around, it wasn't as bad as I thought. I think it was the year of anticipating turning 30 that was worse!

When I turned 30 I went with a bunch of friends and my parent to Vegas. I was drunk (duh we were in Vegas!) but I kept telling everyone it was my birthday and that I came out of my mother's bah-gina.. I almost got kicked out of a few casinos and my mother was mortified. lol good times.

Personally I would love a spa day but some people don't like spa stuff though.. they aren't comfortable with the thought of getting naked, etc.

Does she need a new bat? j/k but they can be expensive.

I think a spa day would be nice, or if you two are close maybe go somewhere for a weekend trip. If not, then a gift card to travelocity or expedia or something that she can use to take a trip on her own or with someone of her own choosing. I am getting close to 30 and I really want to take a trip somewhere and forget that I am getting old! Ha ha!

i'm planning a surprise party for dh's 30th. i want lots of wine when i get there. i'll drown myself in my sorrows...tho i had my crisis at 26.

my mil got me a spa gift certificate for $250 or something like that and i never used it b/c i had no one to go with...so keep that in mind if you decide to do a spa gc. if you're close, maybe invite some other friends/couples to go to dinner and you and your fi can pay. there's always the wine of the month club!

It sounds like you want a tangible something and a day spa thing isn't it.

Wine is always good if she likes it. A friend once got me a 3-month "subscription" to a wine club. It was great.

Or if she has an iPod and loves hers like I love mine, what about an iTunes card or an iHome speaker system?

EH I'll be 30 in Sept. That's ok though;o) I think it depends on what kind of person she is. If she isn't girlie she might not really enjoy a spa day, ? I didn't get the impression she is into "girlie" things, but I could be totally wrong. I'd say dinner and drinks, a margirita bar, crab bar, something like that would be fun. It will give you a chance to hang out and loosen up a bit!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
