Has anyone heard of a DIGITAL PERM?

I'm thinking of doing it. It's really popular in Japan, and we have a salon here in SF that has had so many great reviews on yelp.

It's a really lite body wave that doesn't use a lot of chemicals.

My hair is so straight and doesn't hold a curl very well...I've always wanted long wavy hair.

I've heard of it (I'm obsessed with hair..heheh). I know people that have gotten it done and it looks really nice. I would recommend all the Japanese techniques they do (thermal reconditioning for people who want straight hair and digital perm for people who want wavy hair). If you like it def get it done. But I would wait till after your wedding just in case something were to go wrong. If you use a good person you should have no problems but its better to err on the side of caution.

I didn't know what a digital perm was so I wikipedia'ed it!

What is digital perm

A digital perm is a perm which uses hot rods with the temperature regulated by a machine, which has a digital display, hence the name. However, the process of the perm is quite analogue. The name “Digital Perm†is also copyrighted by a Japanese company, PAIMORE Co.,Ltd.<http://www.paimore.com/>. Hair stylists usually call it a “hot permâ€, but it is commonly known as a “digital permâ€.

A normal perm basically requires only the perm solution. A digital perm requires a (different) solution plus heat.

This type of perm was developed in South Korea, and now popular in both South Korea and Japan.

Difference between a normal perm and a digital perm

The biggest difference between other perms and a digital perm is the shape and the texture of the wave.

A normal perm, or a “cold permâ€, makes the wave most prominent when the hair is wet, and loose when it is dry. The hair tends to look moist and as locks.

A digital perm makes the wave most prominent when the hair is dry, and loose when it is wet. Therefore you can create the dry and curly look of the curl iron or the hot curler. The digital perm requires heat, so it is also called a “hot perm†in comparison to the “cold permâ€.

That's my dilema right now...I want to get it done before the wedding so that the waves will stay, but i'm scared it might turn out bad.

that's my dilema. I want to get it before the wedding so that my hair will actually hold a curl for more than 1 hour, but I'm also scared it might mess up my hair...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!

I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
