Lynn- bring my photog with me from MN.... They are staying for 5 days at the resort so as paying guests i am saying they are family friends who just happen to take good photos :) I also want the video but don't want to pay the 400$ so am borrowing fi's brothers camera and having my uncle video for us!

Dana- super cute cake topper!! Also thanks for all the info and the advice about the location... I forgot about the extra price of the huppa

Iâ€m very excited to report that I have found and bought my groomsmenâ€s shirts today! We are going with a basic white, short sleeve Guayabera shirt. We actually needed to find 10 shirts in all different sizes…(my fiancé, our fathers, his 4 groomsmen, his brother that hasnâ€t committed to coming yet and my two ‘soon to be†step-sons). One of our groomsmen is a professional body builder that is HUGE and then there is my youngest step-son who is only 11 and kind of small…they were on sale and I had a coupon I found online so all 10 shirts were less than $200! Believe it or not I found them at Kohls and was really surprised that the quality was so nice! http://www.kohls.com/kohlsStore/mens/brandsformen/centro/PRD~654205/Centro+Cuffed+Guayabera+Casual+ButtonFront+Shirt.jsp Iâ€m thinking of getting them each some sort of Cuban hat too – so they will have the hat, the white shirts, khaki pants and flip flops. Totally ok for a tropical wedding, right? Oh and I need an opinion…my sister is trying to convince me to have my nephew (my ring bearer) wear this outfit. I think itâ€s really funny and would make for some awesome pictures but I just would hate it if anyone perceived it as us being disrespectful…what do you think? Cute or rude? http://www.totallycostumes.com/qhn-814g-mexican-boy-toddler-costume.html

Virginia- I'm glad you found the shirts, they are really nice and a good price. I don't think the outfit would be offensive, but curious what everyone else thinks.

So we finalized our legal day. We are getting married next Wednesday at the courthouse. My mom still insists on being there so we had to invite FI mom so it's going to be more then I want, but I'll deal.

Hello all,

Does anyone know if the outside photographer fee of $200 is per person? The photographer I'm looking at wants to bring an assistant and I really don't feel like $400 extra is worth it. In my email from Gabriela she replied:

"If you will have an external photographer so you will have to pay 200 USD. If you would like to hire our in house photographer, we will ask him to attend our meeting so you can discuss prices and payment matters directly with him."

I sent her an email asking if the fee was per person, but no reply as of yet.

Also I have a few other questions I was hoping someone could help me with:

- Does anyone know who the Riu Palace's photographer is and what they charge?

- Does the resort allow you to pick the color's for the wedding?

- What kind of food is served at "Chillis" on their menu?

- How do the suites at the resort compare to their standard junior suites?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thx.

210Robinhood - send me your email address and I will forward a bunch of info...as for some of your questions:

- Does anyone know who the Riu Palace's photographer is and what they charge? the resort uses Calypso Foto- I have a price list for them

- Does the resort allow you to pick the color's for the wedding? yes, you can pick colors for chair covers and your table decorations

- What kind of food is served at "Chillis" on their menu? I can forward the menu

- How do the suites at the resort compare to their standard junior suites? from what I understand, the standard junior suite is a basic room where the other suites are upgrades...depending what type you get (jacuzzi, etc). I would assume the resort website would describe the room differences?

Virginia

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
