Nic- could you take your guests out on a boat after the ceremony before the reception in the evening? That would be such a cool way to celebrate! Just a suggestion! No clue how much this would cost!

Nic -

We had our ceremony at 1pm and it worked out nicely, we had photos right after the ceremony till about 3pm. Then we just relaxed by the pool (some people took naps and there were children that needed naps too)...me I hung out in my wedding dress by the pool but most people changed and got into the pool. Then we had our cocktail hour from 5-7 and dinner at Chili's at 7pm.

It worked out great.

We got the 7pm dinner time though because we had over 60 people. Not sure if the rules have changed but you had to have over 60 people to get the early dinner, otherwise dinner wasn't until 8:45pm. I am think having a cocktail hour from 5-8:45 might be a little long. If you are not having your dinner until 8:45pm I would recommend starting your coctails around 6:30-7pm and having appitizers served at it, otherwise people may start to get cranky! :)

So the 1pm isn't bad at all. Also if you are getting your hair done at the salon depending on what you are doing (I got an updo and it took 2 Hours) just remember to factor that in as well.

Hopefully this helps. :)

Thank you so much for the info :-) Definatly helps.... I will prob do what you did and chill by pool in dress if we dont plan a boat or anything like Linds suggested, I definatly want to stay in my dress all day!!!
Ooooo, i do hope diner will be earlier!! That is a long wait. Hopefully we can just drag the photos out.... We will have our 18 month old neice at the wedding so it will be good time for her mum to maybe give her a nap etc....

Im having my hair up... not sure if using the salon yet, i know what i want so im going to get my mum and my FSIL to both have a go and see if i like and if so they will do... so will have to time it :-) I prob wont sleep night b4, so might have to just go out and take a walk early on... before doing anything, and if i go to the salon maybe book that for about 10.00 do you think that would be a good time to book if i do? What time did you book? maybe i could book earlier? xox

ARGH, its all staring to happen x

Need photog details too.... as not sure how we book... were using onsite photog as cant afford to use another and i believe his work is good anyway, im wondering if we book this through the WC?

I have a ? for past brides.... I have been e-mailing the WC and she said the 2 seating's are at 6:45 and 8:45 my wedding is at 5pm and i would like to have a cocktail hour she said she can have my cocktail hour from 5:30 to 6:30 and dinner at 6:45 I just feel like everything's rushed? Just wondering how any past brides worked out dinner cocktail hour and how long after your wedding did your pictures take. I feel like i can take the 8:45 dinner but its so late and what to do in between is the cocktail hour really just an hour or thats what they are saying. Just really starting to stress out help!

Thanks Girls

Christy- I think having an hour for the cocktail and then dinner would be perfect. When you go to a traditional wedding back home that is about what it is. It would save you money not having to pay for hors d'oeuvres. Good luck deciding.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
