shellk-that is awesome you paid a deposit on the dress! How exciting!

I talked to my dress shop and they pushed back the date of getting my dress in. They said it would be shipped late May and arrive at the beginning of June! Ugh! Oh well, as long as I have it in before my wedding I will be okay.

BTW-Y'all are so lucky your weddings are mostly taking place next year or late this year in Mexico. I am afraid this swine flu is going to scare some of my guests away. As of now, we are still planning on going to Mexico. If it gets way worse in a couple months then we will probably not go sad.gif As of now we are determined to go though. If we don't get to go to Mexico, we just going to get married at the JP (we are doing that anyway) and having our AHR as planned. Ugh! What a mess! Oh well, I still have 3 months. Wish me luck!

Aww, I'm so sorry tylersgirl, I'm thinking it's probably going to be one of those things that's a concern for a month and then goes away. I'm not hearing anything about drug cartels in Mexico anymore, are you guys? I would still keep everything moving as planned if I were in your shoes too. How long did it take them to get a lid on the avian flu a couple years ago? Maybe you could bring up some stats about that when talking to your guests. Good luck!!

I agree with Chloe...hopefully it will be one of those things that you won't even hear about again after a couple of weeks! I've already had people bring it up to me, and our wedding is pretty much A YEAR away! I keep explaining to people that that Playa del Carmen is in a COMPLETELY different area than where all of these things are happening!

Hi Girls- Sorry I've been MIA...yesterday was my birthday so I've had a bunch of stuff going on!

Chloe- Congrats on the good luck!!! That is literally the most amazing chain of events I've ever heard, how wonderful for you! PS- Post pics of your dress!!!!!!

TylersGirl- I know exactly how I feel. I watched like 2 hours of coverage on the swine flu yesterday and started to get extremely nervous that it would deter people, especially if they don't get a handle on it, because it sounds so dangerous! BUT, 2 months is a long time!! I'm relieved my wedding is not in May or I'd be flipping out. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you & me that it's taken care of shortly!

My other news is that Jason and I close on our new house on Thursday!!! We spent the weekend at home depot looking at paint colors and buying a new flatscreen and furniture shopping. It's not wedding related, but I'm so excited! let me know if you want to see pics!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
