HEllo to all the newest brides!! These girls will definitely help you with everything you need, i know they have for sure helped me! :)

I love all the puppies!! Jannae- that bandage picture is adorable (hope he is doing okay)!

fsuambs- I've tried to start p90x numerous times but have never actually followed through :/... I really like the videos so I will randomly do them, but maybe you are the motivation I need to stick through a full 90 days! However I did just get accepted into Duluth's half marathon (its a lottery process so not everyone does) so I am def going to be needing to hit the pavement, I am not really a runner i am just trying to pretend to be one!!

Dana- I was in the same boat as you with photography. My older sister got married in Jamaica just over a year ago and had won a photographer on here. A local photographer who has done all my family hs grad picture heard about the deal she won and offered her the same deal (pretty much fly him down and pay for his stay and get all rights to all the photos, he took over 1000). So that being said, he had allready joked around about doing mine and Kory's wedding. After we decided destination, we couldn't decide if we wanted to spend the money or not. My sister told me it was WAY worth it and even offered to pay for it for me (I couldn't accept though). But I look at her pictures and am really glad I am going to, plus my sister would HIGHLY recommend it.

Sorry the response got long! I love all the new chats on this note, feel like I am behind on responding though so have to let as much out in one shot!

Adrienne and all the newbys- time will fly by. Great job getting a head start, I love your save-the-dates! Orange and blue look great together. I'd doing an "all white" wedding but using "tangerine and coral" (orange and green) as accent colors.

KimmyG- I just realized you're getting married April 9, 2010. I have a confirmation date of April 9, 2011, but I am starting to freak out a little. I emailed the wedding group at Riu for a rate quote and I finally heard back yesterday. The quote was for $318 for a double- very doable in my mind. Then, a few hours later (late last night), I received another quote from a different sales person at Riu, same dates, but for $468 for a double! That's a bit different than $318/night...so I emailed them both back asking for the true quote- keeping my fingers crossed that the $318 is correct! Has anyone here received conflicting info like this in the past? Anyone have any idea what is reasonable/what's not?

Thank you all so much for your insight and support on this thread! It's great!

Thanks for the welcome everyone!

Amber-- I've had a bunch of friends that tried P90x but quit on it. Lucky for me my FI is a personal trainer... but have you ever tried taking crossfit classes near you? It's what my FI teaches and it's pretty intense like P90x... but at least the teachers modify things for you if you're not ready.

Dana-- Is there anything you're paying for that you would be willing to let go to have the TTD session? Maybe like the chair bows? That's what I'm having to do with my budget... give and take a little so I can try to stay way under budget. (I just KNOW I'm going to meet some unexpected costs when I get down there!)

And she doesn't know me, but yay Alexis gets married today! LOL Again I feel like I know her and everyone here a lot! Haha.

Kimmy--- Tangerine and coral will look so pretty! Are you also having the BMs all in white?

VLV... how many nights was that 318 quote? My 3-night double quote in the jr. suite is $547.52... making it about $182.51 a night per person. (This is without the flight though)

I'm about to sign the group agreement... but wasn't sure if I could get a better deal elsewhere! But I think I'm just going to do it for my peace of mind...

Ciao all!

Adirenne- the $318 quote is per night, so it would end up being $159 per person per night (without flight like you). Where did you obtain your quote from- Riu directly or destinationweddings? I am also using destinationweddings.com to book my travel but my specialist keeps telling me that rates are not available for 2011 yet- so I emailed Riu myself, which is where I got the two separate quotes from...I'm very interested to hear where your quote came from! Any idea if you save even more money by signing the group agreement? Oh, and who are you working with at destinationweddings? Debbie Ryan is who we are working with.

Also, I love your Save the dates and your flower/color ideas! When are you planning to send out the STDs? I was thinking about a year in advance- think that's too soon?

Thanks girls, I think you've convinced me to do it.

I wish I could give up only chair bows to pay for the TTD, LoL. I don't know. I know it's a lot of money, but I'm not confident the resort photog is going to be any good.

Hi Girls ! This website has been so great ! I am getting married at the RPRM June 26th and I am so Excited! To all the girls who have already been married there any advice? We are having a beach ceremony with a harpist and I am trying to have a private reception at chilis but I am not sure if you can have one there if you have less than 80 people? Do they allow you to use the top floor?

Don't stress about prices.... our price quotes were REDICulously high until we get closer, about 6 months before the wedding is when they were actually the most affordable.
You're in a tough spot bc you want people to start booking but most people will take one look at the prices and run the other way. They're very high when they first come out (flight and hotel both).
If anyone books this far out make sure they get insurance with a "price assurance guarantee." We did that, our travel agent lets us know when the price has gone down and credits us back the difference! Well worth the $120/person.... it's saved us nearly $1000 so far!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
