Oh and believe me... The Welcome dinner is almost as wonderful as the reception. When we arrived for the Welcome Dinner at Don Manolo's they had segmented off a private area and had it decorated just like a wedding reception. Since we had seen a previous wedding earlier that day, I thought the dinner was the actual reception for that wedding because the decorating was so elaborate!! Nope.. THAT was our WELCOME DINNER.. They even had a head table for it.!!
Thank you Susan for taking the time to take all those photos and for thinking of us! I really appreciate the info you and Josie have shared! What a beautiful wedding!

HI!! So I have been reading this daily! It has provided me with SOO much helpful information. I am getting married May 22, 2010. Guess I'm starting to kinda get a little overwhelmed! Have not done much and it's hard b/c we are not really sure how many people will be going. I was wondering if you use the photographer at the Riu do you have to contact them a head of time or do you handle that when they contact you about a month prior?? Just don't want to get stuck w/o one!!! Thanks so much for all the great input and ideas!

welcome, dont get overwhelmed enjoy it because believe me it goes soooo quickly.glad you find the thread helpful its been a god send for me.if you have any quires just let us know and we will do our best to advise.lisa+josie have been really helpful to us just lately.regarding the photographer yeh you can use the resort photographer who are called calypso photography (i still havent found their website lisa/josie do you?)or you can have your own but you have to pay for them to enter the resort for the day.

you still have time but the way i got through was make a diary of things you need to do by what date and tick them off as you go along.good luck.

have you tried on dresses yet?

Shellk- I'm still thinking about it! I have lost 17 lbs and would like to lose 12 more before the wedding. If I can lose about 5 lbs by the end of Jan I am going to do the BD shoot for sure! I can't find a good photog around here though with reasonable prices. I need to continue searching!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
