Hi June,

I am glad to inform you that we can rent the disco (located at the RIU Yucatan) for your group. The cost is $1.350 usd and it includes the Disco with a/c, live DJ with full sound equipment and open bar for your guests for a total of 3 hours.

Please bare in mind that there is no need for you to make the decision at the time, as I will be contacting you around 2 months prior to the big day to discuss everything in detail.

In the meantime, please feel free to review our FAQ and thank you for choosing RIU Hotels & Resorts for your Wedding!!!

Warm Regards,

Hi girls- I am so sorry to hear about all these stressors! I feel overwhelmed just reading about it! I had no idea there would be an extra $9 charge for alcohol and that seems ridiculous! It really feels like they are starting to nickle and dime you. Let me just get this right- if you pay the 1700- is the dinner and DJ in the same room or do you move b/t the two events- I was just wondering if the full bar is open for the entire 2 hrs (even though thats hardly enough time to eat, dance and enjoy an open bar!)

I am still trying to decide on using an outside photographer- It seems like the packages that the riu's Calypso is actually super expensive considering you dont "get" any pics- but the wc said I would need to book outside vendors a room and that makes them more expensive- I also would love to do a TTD and am not sure calypso can do it

Paige2010- I think you are talking about the Caprice package at the rprm, that is the package I got only because of the amount of people we will be having (over 50) but yeah you only get 24 photos in that package we are just paying more to get more photos. and yes, the 1700 includes the private dinner and dj that are in the same venue from 8:45-11:30. I am not sure if maybe they let you go past 11:30pm but Ael so far has made it clear that 11:30 is the cut off time.

Okay, I got my responses back from Ael and this is what she had to say:

What is the maximum number of people that Chili's can hold? Max. capacity is 200 guests.

Is it possible to have a private reception with speeches and slide show at Chilis? Only if your group is over 70 guests and a different cost applies.

Do you have to pay for drinks other then beer, wine and pop? Yes, when you book a private reception dinner, you have the option of paying 9usd per person for an open bar.

Is it possible to bring our own music to the private dinner instead of having the DJ? You may, however, please bare in mind that the DJ is the one who brings the full sound equipment, lights, microphones, etc. The restaurant does not count with sound equipment, so if you wish to bring your own music please consider speakers, screen and all necesary items.[/I]

Did you get a response yet Josie?

I've been lurking for awhile, but I'm back!

I'm officially one of those girls who CANNOT decide on a wedding dress. I have officially purchased one from david's bridal that I really like, and i also purchased a used verison of the dress for my TTD, however I have fallen in love with a Maggie Sottero that I HAVE TO HAVE....looks like I have some selling to do... =(

I am also looking for some super unique flats/sandals and CANNOT find what I am looking for!

On an good note, my invites should be here this week!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
