Dennis and I will be married there on November 9, 2013...CAN NOT WAIT!

 

As far as tables, I hear they do a nice job of setting the tables but you can also bring decorations.  I plan to have the Table Names and I think I'm going to have the chair ribbons moved from the ceremony to the reception chairs.  But don't think I will have any table centerpieces otherwise.

 

I received some pictures of the table arrangements they can do at the reception from my planner contact at the Riu...if you would like I can email them to you...just send me a pm.

Hi all, My wedding is just around the corner, Nov 16th! Can't believe it's already almost here! Shannon, it sounds like you've been contacted by the wc already. Congratulations...our big days are going to be here before we know it:)  That would be neat if you run into some of our wedding guests when you arrive... many of them are extending their trip for a personal vacay. 

 

To answer your question, I have been reaching out to the scheduling department and the wedding coordinators for quite some time now - I had so many questions in the beginning that I wanted to make sure were answered so I just emailed them.  At times it took weeks to get a response back but recently their responses are pretty timely.  I did receive contact from the Resort Salon & Spa about a month ago which was not in response to any contact I originally made.

 

If I were you, I would just respond to the person who sent the email confirmation when you booked your wedding...I'm sure they will put you in touch with the right person.

Thanks Shannon! I booked my wedding almost 2 years ago, I want to say the woman doesn't work there anymore, but I have plenty of email addresses, so I think I will reach out. I found this site so long ago, I've watched many brides come and go and in the end they've all said there wasn't anything to worry about. I've kind of got over stressing about the small details, but now I'm feeling it all be so soon and real now, all the anxiousness is coming back! I'm pretty much ready, guests are all set, so just waiting for the few weeks to pass by!

So I have a question that no ones seems to have addressed, how do the guests know where to go the day of the wedding?? Like since everyone is going to get there at different days and times, how will the guests actually know what to do on the actual day of the wedding?

We have a schedule of events on our website and our invites will have something similar as well. Also, I know some people will be calling our parents and confirming details with them. Another thing we did was include a map of the resort on our site so people will know exactly where the ceremony and reception will be.

Hi guys! I was wondering if anyone wouldnt mind sharing the reception pictures? Ive seen tons of ceremony pics and I get it, but I would really love to see some detailed pictures of reception. Did anyone take pictures of food, venue? Fire dancing people, etc? Can someone PM with some please or post?

 Question? I have wedding favors, OOT bags, etc. Does anyone have any suggestions on mailing  the favors vs taking it on the plane with you? Anyonw know how strict customs is?

Hi Stephanie, Did you do a private reception or a semi-private? Just trying to get some feedback for my upcoming wedding

We just got back a week ago from our wedding at the Riu. The wedding turned out great, our wedding coordinator was Fabi. I was a little nervous that something would not turn out but they really did a great job. We did not have any issues at all when it came to our wedding day. The renova spa did an awesome job on my hair and makeup! I would highly recommend using them, I was very impressesed and so were my 3 bridesmaids. We also used Adventure Photography and I am soooo glad we did! They too did an awesome job, we decided to buy all of the photos that they took. Agni was there the whole day from the Spa to the reception taking pictures of us and our guests. We also did a TTD session which was fun! Overall everything really was perfect when it came to the wedding. The only downside was during our stay at the Riu my mom had her iPad stolen out of her room which put a damper on her vacation so just remember to lock your stuff whenever you leave the room. And dont leave extra room keys laying around in your room as someone took their extra key out of there room then entered the room when they were out to dinner.

If I don't want a DJ will they still provide sound equipment for an iPod? How do you get the music you want for the ceremony?
