Well I got my first annoying call today. My friend and her husband want to book a room at one of the "cheaper" riu hotels. I tried to explain it, but not sure if I got through. When I mentioned Riu Tequila was more of the party hotel he said well you know she will want to stay there then. Talk about put my foot in my mouth, the best part is she doesn't drink....lol. Oh well, right?

Thanks Shellk! I missed you guys too- when I'm not on here, I feel like I haven't been talking to my friends!

Sammysgirl- I ADORE your Moms dress! So perfect

Can't wait to see the invites Paige!

I think it's settled for the bachelorette party. Small one for BFF's in Denver, then for all of the girls in Mexico. Do you know what you're going to do for yours yet Katie? I wanted to do a nightclub night, but then realized that I'm not a nightclub girl! haha--- I think we're going to do a catamaran/snorkeling/beach party one.

I'm running into the same thing Dana and Sammysgirl. I have a couple people that aren't staying in RPRM. So I just hope it doesn't become a trend because of the 80%... guess we'll see!

Hi RPRM brides! I heard from Ael yesterday and am so excited so start planning all the details (only 54 more days till the wedding!). Here are my sisters BM dresses: JS Boutique Strapless Satin Dress with Sash - View All - Nordstrom

Here's my dress; I got it in ivory and will wear an ivory sash w/ a crystal/pearl broach. Also my seamstress made the neckline sweetheart:

David's Bridal - Allover draped taffeta trumpet with button back.

Re: what to put on your rsvp cards...one of the attachments Ael sent me is an Excel spreadsheet asking for each guests name, confirmation #, date of arrival/departure, travel agency & hotel. It's a lot of info, but you may want to include some of it on your rsvp:)

Hello girls,

Please can i ask is there any pictures anywhere of the 3 places you can choose to get wed at this resort?

Ive only seen the Gazebo (which looks beautiful)

I believe the beach and the Kiosk are the other options?

We have always dreamed of getting wed on the beach but would love to see the set up of a beach wedding here. Is there any reason why everyone seems to choose the gazebo?

this is why i want to see the other two places of choise as im a bit worried they (especially the beach set up) are not what i imagined!!!

Thanks

Nic x

Nicyx,

I don't have any pictures of the other two locations, but since I stayed here last year i can give you some insight. The beach, it's great....if this is what you dreamed of go with it. Basically they "rope" off a section of the beach and put chairs there and whatever decorations you decided on. The con (in my opinion), it's a long walk from hotel room to the beach through the pool area and at the hotel you can be topless so I saw several topless women standing and watching the wedding. I'm sure the photographer can photoshop them out anyway, I just thought it was a little weird. As for the kiosk, I would say don't even consider it. When you walk out of the lobby they have almost like a "stage" with a pretty iron railings and a roof. They us this at night for entertainment during the cocktails. It's very nice, but right in the middle of the resort. Not private at all. I know most people pick the gazebo b/c it is the most private. If you're dreaming of the beach wedding then go for it b/c they were gorgeous when we saw them!

Let me know if you have other questions?/

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
