We actually booked through Liberty Travel. They have a group travel department that will work with larger groups to get your better prices/discounts.

you can try to read the thread on the site about destinationweddings.com, but the concensous I got from reading the thread is don't. I already knew where I wanted to get married so I picked a local travel agent. She is going to book everyone based on there own travel dates. I think it works the best.

Hi Lauren- We booked our travel through a travel agent at Liberty Travel (I can give you her contact info; she is fabulous) and included her contact info on my STD and wedding website. Some guests booked thru her, others found better deals online (like Travelocity), and others have their own TAs they booked with. I suggest booking your travel through an agent and giving your guests the agents contact info and then let them worry about booking. There is nothing to stress about!:)

Our invitations are FINALLY in the mail!! What a project... we did Message-in-a-bottle invites by buying the materials online and assembling them ourselves (with lots of help), and it's nice to have them shipped off :)

We're doing electronic RSVP (on our wedding website) with a deadline of Jan 29, I hope people actually do it. That'll put us right at the 2 month mark to know our guest count when Riu wedding coordinators come knocking!

FI ordered his suit last night from Studio Suits.com, I'm keeping my fingers crossed we took his measurements right!

Happy New Year everyone!

Hi girls- it took me a week but I've finally read through all the messages! I got engaged on December 12th and am planning on having my wedding at the Riu Palace RM on March 27th at 4:00 (the confirmation is supposed to be here on Monday). So yes- I've got 85 days left and am just starting the planning process. I appreciate all the info I've received from all of you!

So this is a really random question but I haven't seen it answered anywhere... when we get married do you know if my FH and I (along with the wedding party and parents) will have to wear the all-inclusive wristbands? I've seen a few wristbands in pics but would really prefer not to have them on...

Also does anyone have the price list and menu that they could send to me personal email? I'm getting anxious and know from everyone else's experience that I won't get a response from the RIU until 2 months before the wedding :)

Thank you!

Jessica

hi,
regarding the wristbands i think some guests ask for them to be put on loosley so they can get them off and back on.for the bride and groom i understand that they will let you take them off and give you replacement band.that was one of the first things i though about lol.i dont like the thought of having it on on my wedding day.it wont match my jewellry lol.

if you give me your email address i will send you the info ael sent me.

Hey girls- I know I have been MIA forever but I have been soo busy with work- I am now gonna kick into wedding planning mode!

Do y'all know what info the resort is going to need to know about my guests so I can be sure to ask it on the response cards (I know they want to know where everyone is staying but is there anything else?)

Does anyone have an example of what their response cards said (should I ask airline?) Thanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
