At night you can see cozumel in the distance and the lights of that island. its so pretty :) Glad you liked the videos! i wish i would have thought to take more for you guys!

Josie - the videos are awesome!!!

Do any of you know the proper ettiquette (sp?) for sending out thank-you cards? I still have not sent thanks yous for the shower I had because it was 2 weeks before the wedding and I had no time. Is it to long after if I send them after the holidays for both the shower and wedding?

Hi Everyone,

Nora- thanks for the advice. i think i'm going to go to the little sales pitch and just see what its all about i mean whats 90 minutes of my life if i can somehow get a semi-paid for place to stay for a vacation. i'm not really expecting anything out of it but i'll let you guys know how it goes.

Joise - your wedding looked amazing!! did you bring the chair bows and fans yourself or was it through RIU

Sammysgirl - yea for going back to school!!! that is so exciting! good luck

i was wondering what you girls are doing / did in terms of the photographer. Did you just use the one they recommended or did you bring your own. I was kind of hoping to bring in an outside photographer and was told it would be 100$ for a day pass for them.. however i never really realized how much wedding photographers are.... what do you guys think is a reasonable budgethuh.gif

also about the reception i remember that some of you girls are having a private reception with a dj. i'm worried that my guest count wont be enough for a private reception and i dont want to pay extra if i just have 25 people. but then again i dont want to miss out on the first dance and father daughter dance.... any ideas?

Alright! take care

Lynn

Josie and Lisa thank you so much for all your info! Your pics are gorgeous! I'm so glad to hear you both had excellent weather and a great time!

Josie- where are your BM dresses from, and their shoes?? I really love them! Did you take the matching chair bows your self?

Dreamingofsunshine- I am using an outside photographer. I have read great things about the photog the Riu provides but I chose to hire Blue Lens Caribe, they are located in Riviera Maya and have been so great to work with thus far. I will pay the daily vendor fee ($100)- I found that prices can really vary- since our wedding is at 3 and reception isnt till 9 or so I had to book for all day which starts getting expensive.- but this photog group really worked with me to give the best arrangements of photos since I had to book for a full day but probably only need them for 5 or 6 hrs.

Dreamingofsunshine - I used the resort photographers (package 8, I think, it was $1200) They deffinately were not the greatest at coming up with poses but all our photos turned our beautifully. I just took charge and told them what I wanted. I would use them again, just be sure to have a list prepared of all the photos you want to get. You definately won't remember them all on the day of!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
