Hi everyone,

It's been forever since I've been on here, mostly because we're planning our reception in Mexico off-site now, so I've had to direct my attention elsewhere. I just wanted to say congrats to Lisa and best of luck to Josie!

On a side note, since we're headed out of the resort right after our ceremony, I've been looking into slimming down the wedding package we're going to use. I came across a "free" wedding on the Riu main site. It looks like it's just for the Riu Palace Mexico though. Does anyone know anything about this?

Thanks Ladies!

Thanks Sammy, I was just under the impression that I could have a reception with the packages. It's kind of disappointing b/c my family and friends love to dance. I may not have the minimum of 50 to even have the private party which will be disappointing. My FI and I went to the disco at Yucatan and Tequila when we were there in January, but to be honest they weren't that great. I have lots of time so I'll figure it out!

I feel the same way regarding the reception. I've just decided that we will figure out something free to do, whether it is stay at the resort and have our own little thing or head out some where. I am not really worried about a reception in Mexico, so I feel fortunate that I do not have to stress over it.

Lisa- So excited to hear from you! I'm so happy that everything went great! Enjoy the rest of your time there, but of course I CAN'T WAIT for you to get back to share to share all of the details with us!!! Thanks for checking in!

Chloe- I haven't heard too much about the free package. Have you decided yet where you're having your reception? It must have been tough choosing an offsite place...I can only imagine the number of places you had to choose from!

Welcome Dana!

Yes, they have internet. If you bring your laptop it is free. If you don't have your laptop they have a few computers and you can buy minutes to check the internet. I personally didn't bring my laptop, but some people met did and said it worked pretty good for Mexico.

I looked up the free wedding, it is only for Riu Palace Mexico. It is for 10 people or less though.

Where are you having your reception off site?

wow guys i miss one day and lots happens.first of all CONGRAtULATIONS MRS huh.gifreally glad you are having a good time. i have been keeping tracks on the weather lol.really cant wait for you to come back now for you to share sorry i know that selfish.

dana is right about the free wedding package but with that i think you have to pay for most of the legal stuff so you are better off going with the cheaper package just for that reason.

dana-are you all booked then?

englishguy - welcome.which pic is it thats not working?where in uk are you from?happy planning

No, I'm not officially booked yet. My airfare and hotel rates don't come out until Dec 1st. I have requested my date and just waiting for confirmation on the date.

Does anyone know, I wasn't paying attention and I picked the Caprice package when I choose my date. I will likely only need The Royal package though, will this be a problem?

KimmyG- I acutally lived in Northern, KY (villa hills) everyone over there says they are from Cincy though. I worked right downtown in the Chemed building across from the Chaquita building. I left to move back home to Indianapolis. I miss Cincy. It is so much fun and I still have some friends there! I love to visit! Its such an easy drive! I miss burrito joes the most, but I do crave a baked potato from skyline from time to time wink.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
