Shelk- That's so awesome that you ordered your rings! So exciting!

Josie- I love your new siggy pic!

And we definitely need to get to the bottom of this whole frozen drink thing! We've all obviously seen TONS of pics with a table set up like this! Now all of the sudden, they have no idea what anyone is talking about, lol!? I would hope that the resort would do it for us...especially since it is for our wedding!!!

Wedding clarifications, b/c i had these same questions earlier wink.gif :

CIVIL wedding is legal and binding in mexico: it takes place at the courthouse in mexico and your wedding documents will be in spanish and must be transferred to english

RELIGIOUS wedding is neither legal nor binding in mexico or usa, but they go through all the ceremony motions. also known as "symbolic" b/c it seems like the real deal but you're not legally wed at that time... this is what most BDW brides do, and also why they do the "legal day" either before or after leaving

RENEWAL i've heard is very clearly a renewal of vows and cannot be passed off as the real deal. this is also not legal in mexico or usa.

Congrats on getting your rings shellk!! That is very exciting!

I am still waiting for my wedding band, I had to get one custom made and I made a decision very late on what I wanted to go with. Anyhow, my ring won't be ready until Oct. 20th. I can't wait to get it cause I have also been without my engagement ring for almost 2 months! We also ordered my fiance's ring from the other side of the country so we are waiting to get his too!

Hi Ladies,

I haven’t been on for awhile, but I get your updates thru email so I don’t feel so disconnected

Anyways, I know a few of you were having problems getting responses from Ael.

A person that has been helpful is Anilu: palace.rivieramaya@riu.com.

It has been frustrating that I feel I can’t contact Ael for anything. The few times I have emailed her, she replies with something like “I will contact you 1-2 mos. before your wedding” and doesn’t answer my question. Its like all questions will have to wait until then…..

Anyways, I hope all of your planning is going well.

Alexis

Hello Future RPRM Brides,

It's been a minute since i have posted anything on here, since Im coming up on my 1 year anniversary since I wed at RPRM.

I've been following this thread since they appear on my inbox, and i am very excited for each and every one of you.

I've noticed that alot of you are irritated with the lack of communication coming from the wedding coordinators.

Let me just give you a piece of advice, so that maybe you can stop stressing so much over that.

They WILL NOT deal with you, or set anything up for you prior to your arrival.

(Other than the regular: pick your location for the ceremony and cake preference)

So do yourself a favor and stop stressing over something you have no control over!

Write down all the things/ extras / ideas - that you would like for your wedding and once you are at your appointment a few days before your wedding, that is when you let them know. They will do it if they can, even if they charge you a small fee for that service.

I had the strawberry daquiris as a cocktail treat pre-wedding while my guests awaited the start of the ceremony. I asked for this at the appointment and I think they charged me $5 per person.

So it can be done. They just focus on your details a few days prior to your wedding.

Just think about how many weddings and brides/bridezillas they have to deal with when it comes to details.

So just relax, dont trip over things you have no control over (right now) and enjoy these days leading up to your wedding date!

Hope this helps a bit and puts you at ease.

Your very welcome and thanks for the compliment!

I was in your same shoes this time last year and know exactly what you feel like!

Once it was all over and done with I remember thinking "Gosh, If I knew then what I know now, I could have skipped over all that unessesary stressing.

I remember the wedding coordinators told me at our meeting that the reason they dont deal with you prior to meeting with you, is because they are so busy with the current weddings going on, they dont have time to really deal with details over e-mail.

there isnt anything that can be physically done prior to your arrival.

Oh...and the disco...well, I'd feel bad by not putting my 2 cents in, but it looks really old, dark and dirty!!!

Suggestion ....either party outside in the plaza or in the lobby/piano area...

Thanks for all your help!

Lisa, I can't believe you're getting married in 1 month and 6 days!! ahhh.. it's so exciting!! :)

I talked to Ael, and because I'm only having 25 people coming to the hotel, i reserved to eat at chillis for 6:45 p.m, and she just emailed me saying that now I eat at 8:45 p.m.. Which i found really weird!!

Josie...is the disco before or after your dinner?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
