Paige- I've got our date and STDs and that's pretty much it, too.

We sent out STDs 2 months ago and pretty much noone has booked yet so it's too soon to send out invitations (b/c i know i'll just get annoyed when people don't RSVP, so i'll wait until people have a better idea if they're really coming or not).

I'm not buying bridesmaids dresses until my bm's actually book their trips since they're being iffy about even coming! arrrggg sad.gif Our wedding is "all white" so I may just tell them to pick out their own white, strapless, knee-length dresses to keep it simple.

I'm still chewing over wedding dresses... I got a knock-off from china, which is nice, but it doesn't fit the way I want... I plan to take it to a seamstress but in the meantime i'm being distracted by other dresses i think i like better now! I can't wait to be on the beeeachh :-)

Thanks for the comps on the STDs ladies!!!

Paige- I'm pretty sure Calypso photography is Riviera Maya Wedding Photographer :: Juan Carlos Magallon I cannot be completely sure how I made the connection between the two, I think I found his name in the forum. BUT recently I looked at both sites and they had the same photos. So I would contact Juan Carlos and just ask. Hope I'm leading you in the right direction!

Kimmy-- I can't wait to see pics of your white wedding! Gorgeous...

and I hope Ael gets back to everyone soon. How frustrating.

ladies, here is my latest response. hope all is well with you!

Ael,

I have not heard back from you in a week, I hope things are OK. Since we've talked I've come up with a final plan for the wedding. We would like to have the semi-private dinner at Chilis, and pay to rent the disco at the RIU Yucutan immediately following our reception dinner. I have a few questions about doing this, and they are as follows: ok. I have changed your dinner reservation to Chillis at 8.45pm (semi-private) and have booked the Disco at the RIU Yucatan as per request. Please note that we do not provide shuttle services between these 2 properties.1. Can we pay extra to have our semi-private dinner in the first seating? No, I'm sorry.

2. Can we have a head table at our dinner? How many people are seated at each table at Chilis? Do you know if our group will be upstairs or downstairs? We'll have between 55-65 people. The set-up is based on space availability, we can go over your special requests during our interview but we cannot gurantee these as the restaurant is shared with other RIU guests. The tables are square but we tend to push them together to make tables of 6 - 8 people. Please not that your group will be accommodate downstairs as the area upstairs is for max. 30 guests.

3.Do you have any recomendations for LIMO companies in the area? We would like to arrange limosine transportation for our guests that will take them after our reception dinner at Chili's is over, to the disco at the Riu Yucatan. We'd appreciate it if you happened to have a list of limo services that you could provide to us. I honestly do not have information of Limo companies but possibly the hotel can assist you: palace.rivieramaya@riu.com. Note that the disctance is less then a 2 minute drive.

4. We would also like to have a table set up with frozen drinks for our wedding guests near the Gazebo immediately following our wedding ceremony. We have seen this in many of the RIU Palace Riviera Maya wedding picutes, and think it's a fabulous idea. How can we arrange this, and what is the cost? I am truly sorry but we don't offer this service. However, as soon as I receive your guest list, we can check on the option of booking a semi-private cocktail time for your group at one of the bars.

5.I also asked some questions in my previous email about the cost of steaming my dress. If you could please respond to that email as well it would be very helpful. The estimated cost is around 25 usd but it depends on the size and type of fabric. The front desk can assist you with this service.

Thank you,

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
