Josie- those sandals are very original; I'll have to look into them. Thanks for the suggestion!

One more question for all of you: on your invitations what time are you putting for your ceremony?

My ceremony will be at sunset & the WC said that will be either 5 or 6 pm…..so….do I just put “at sunset” on the invite and then include an itinerary in the welcome bag of the exact time once I know?

Thanks!

I'd definitely put "sunset" and include the exact time on the welcome letter/itinerary. My wedding is at like 3, so I didnt really have this issue. I included an "information card" (same size as response card) with a bunch of details on the wedding/welcome dinner, etc. And I put "Times are subject to change" so that everyone knew nothing is set in stone! I'll provide final details to them when they check in :)

Have any of you started you OOT bags? I am just starting...I know I am way behind but if any of you have any awesome ideas I would love to hear from you!! Or any online retailers you think are good. I have checked all the threads on OOT bags and I have some ideas but I am kinda overwhelmed by all of them. I also don't know the exact number of guests so I find it hard to get started....I am a little stressed!!!

Hi Lisa,

I found cute beach bags on sale this week @ Wal-Mart for $5 each (they also have mesh bags for $3) that I am using. I still have 6 months until my wedding, but know I won’t be able to find beach bags in Jan. Here is my (tentative) list so far:

Word Puzzles/ Sodoku books

Decks of cards

First Aid Kits (bandaids, Pepto, Motrin, Tylenol) from Costco

Maybes:

A mini-wallet/purse (can be used as a key card/money holder)

pashmina

travel mug (I’ve heard these are a hit)

I really like Wedding Favors, Bridal Shower Favors, Party Favors by Beau-coup and may get a few personalized items to include as well.

I'd love to hear what you decide to include. Keep us updated:)

We have about 60 guests, I am thinking a bag in the $20 range per person is good. But once you buy the mugs and the tote bags it doesn't leave you much else. I have been checking dollar stores and walmart here constantly because I see all the other brides that can find deal but apparently I am looking in the wrong place because I haven't been able to find anything!!

Thanks mrsMarch for your ideas!

I will keep you updated as to what I get. thanks for your help ladies.

Lisa-

I'm using Promotional Tote Bags | Custom Tote bags | Custom Printed Tote Bags to buy my bags. i debated for a long time and decided not to put my monogram on them because i dont think people will use them again. Instead I'm either going to leave them blank and put a tag with our monogram, or put a logo on the bag that has palm trees and says "Playa Del Carmen" but not our names.

As far as what to put in them. I'm going to do a welcome letter, mugs, sunscreen, asprin, maybe a deck of cards, breathmints or gum, maybe a little fan & possibly some bottled water. I'll keep you posted on any more decisions :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
