I am using an outside photog. Last I heard you just act like they are a guest at your wedding and it's OK. I think we had to make sure they were staying at the RIURM to avoid any issues. Not sure about what happens if they stay somewhere else or need a day pass, etc. I hope to find out more details soon :)

Thanks Josie- That sounds ok probably if they are a family/friend and can pass as a guest, but I would be scared to get caught with an obvious local :) So keep me updated on what you find out. When I emailed the WC for their policy she kind of avoided the question and just gave me the link for Calypso the resort photog.

I totally get that you'd be worried! My photog is an obvious external, considering i'm flying her from chicago & there are actually 2 photogs. but i think as long as they have a room its fine. but you might have to pay for a room for your local!

You can get married on the beach...but the spot is not very private so their are a bunch of onlookers (this is what i've heard, no personal experience). I know you can have a private reception for 1700 dollars, but not 100% sure if you can have it actually on the beach

hope this helps at little :)

Hello all! I'm new to this board and I've finally gotten through all 109 pages of this post! I have to say it was one of the most helpful threads on here :)

I am not yet engaged, but my boyfriend and I have been dating for 2 and a half years and we've already started discussing what we'd like for a wedding. Both of us fell in love with Playa earlier this year when we stayed at the RPRM and we decided that we would love to get married there! So I'm just here to get as much info as possible before we start planning.

Thank you to everyone who has already shared their stories! I can't wait to hear the rest of yours and to add my own as well!

-Lorie

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
