My guest list has gotten a little out of hand and now a lot more people are expressing interest than I thought....its stressing me out! For that reason we are not setting up anything besides a welcome dinner since all of our guests are arriving and departing and different times.

I'll include in our welcome letter the cost & options for activities available....but we won't be putting one together or funding one!

I swam with the dolphins twice and it was amazing!!!!

Congrats Josie!

I'm sorry to hear about your guests cancelling last minute Desiree. You'll have a fabulous time without them I'm sure. The less negativity, the better!

As far as the bachelorette/bachelor party thing goes, we were just going to do a separate girls/guys night out in Mexico, but people who aren't coming to Mexico wanted to be involved. So, we'll probably do something here before we leave instead. David's friends want to go to Vegas for his bachelor party, but he thinks its too much with a destination wedding.

We are doing an excursion as a gift to all our guests. It's super important to us that we do something to thank them for traveling and spending so much money just to see us get married. I don't think anyone is expecting that we do something, and I'm sure they're looking at this mostly as a vacation for themselves, but it will make us feel good to do something for everyone. We decided on a private sunset catamaran cruise. It was the one thing we could see everyone enjoying. It's 4 hours long, and there's and open bar, we still haven't decided if we're going to do a dinner. Samira, I think you asked how much it is, but we don't know exactly how much it will be. It depends entirely on how many people end up coming, and if we will do the dinner or not. But, to give you an idea, if we have 50 people, with no dinner, it will be $2000.

Desiree, sorry to hear about your guests! but don't worry about it ( I know its hard not to) just think about the wonderful time you will have in a few days! I can't wait to see pics!

Btw we rented a Jeep last year when we were in Mexico and went all over Cancun, Tulum and Puerto Morales (sp?), it was a lot of fun!!!'

Chloe - I agree with you, I feel like I have to do something for my guests since they are travelling! Let me know when you find out more about the cruise it sounds like a neat idea! I was thinking maybe taking my guest to chichen itza and estimated that it would cost $3,600 for 60 ppl. But we are still deciding since its a lot of money. I did the Chichen Itza tour through gray line tours in 2007 and it was it included the transportation from the hotel, lunch in a restaurant/hotel and a guided tour of chichen itza.

Hi All!

I have been stalking this thread for a few days, and have had the pleasure of being welcomed! My date at the RPRM is confirmed for July 6, 2010. As some of you had stated previously, I have my confirmation code, but no rates yet. The conf code is ok for 90 days though, so I'm not stressing! I have to say, that I have had so many questions answered from this thread, I feel like I already know all of you!! I do have a few questions/comments though:

Desiree- It's here!! Sorry about your cancellations sad.gif I'm so glad you are going through this now--- you have answered so many of my questions! (Chair covers included in the Royal, complimentary cocktail, bouquet choosing+ so much more) Your shower photos were so cute! Also, could you please send me the spa/addl info? Everyones comments piqued my interest! jannae.ibarra@gmail.com Also: thank you so much for the monogram site. I am ON it! You have given so much great info, I just love it.

Josie (congrats on the legal stuff wink.gif) and Katie-- websites are awesome! I had no idea where to begin, but I've gotten so many ideas-- MUCH appreciated!, I've actually decided to do weddingwindow.com because of you both!! (if you want to see the minimal progress: ryanandjannae.weddingwindow.com )

Katie, thanks for the pros on a TA, I have been on the fence, and really just don't know what to do. I have never worked with one before.. how long was your deadline for deposit with your TA to get a group rate? Have you found that it is better priced than just getting it yourself?

Lisa- LOVE your BM and GM outfits-- our nieces and nephews will be ours, and I was thinking of doing something similar!!

Samira- I'm so excited that your date is close to mine! it will be so interesting to see how weather is, etc. Can't wait!

Happy Bride- Thank you so much for the Mischkas maraca updates: good to know they are not super pricey.

Samira-I heard that the ladies here on this forum are really good! TammyHost owns this forum and she is a travel agent along with alot of other ladies. Just click on the flashing banner at the top of the forum and I think it allows you to get in touch with them. I have only heard good things about their service, etc.

Welcome Jannae, I love your wedding website! It makes me want to re-do my colors bc yours is so bright and tropical :) However, I am feeling quite lazy at the moment!

Our thread is growing and its so exciting! I can't wait to see how all of your weddings turn out and I love that I feel like I know you girls and you're all so supportive wink.gif

At the moment I am stressing about OOT bags & our guest list. I feel like there is STILL so much to do.

Desiree- what are you doing about Menu's & Place cards? Are you making your own, or do you know if RIURM provides Menus?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
