Thanks for the info Katie!

Desiree - you must be super excited! A month till your wedding!!!

Ladies one more question what is the norm, when you have destination wedding do you need to have a welcome dinner? Are you having one, if yes does the resort let you book a restaurant for like 30-40 ppl in advance?

I may not log back until Sunday, I am going away to Smith Mountain Lake for the weekend for a much needed break from work :-)

Samira - I was wondering the same thing. We are gonna do a welcome dinner, but we don't care if its private or anything. I assume I'll get more info 2 months before the wedding when the coordinator starts getting in touch. We were planning, worse case scenario, to just tell all our guests to meet somewhere (at one of the low key buffets or something)....so thats our plan. Maybe Desiree knows more?

Yeah, that is so weird y'all are talking about the welcome dinner thing b/c this totally slipped my mind and I haven't even asked the WC about it yet. I will email her now. Josie, I am with you. I am going to see if we can meet at either a restaurant or just one of the buffets. I don't care if it is private or anything. I just want a get together. I will let y'all know what the WC says about it.

Josie- Have a great weekend in Boston!

Just like everyone else, I'm also thinking about what to do for a welcome dinner. From other reviews that I've read it seems like they might be able to block off a section of one of the buffets for your entire group.

Thanks for the welcome everyone! I haven't been on in a while, just so busy but I am on for a little now!

We've actually changed our date due to too many woes and concerns from family about Hurricane Season. Instead of October 2010, it's now May 2010. AHHHH!

I did, though, find my dress last night, so I'm thrilled.

Now I'm off to read the next 10 pages of posts. Happy 4th Everyone!!!!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
