Wow! I feel like I've missed so much! I've been so busy at work, I haven't had much time to come on!

Anyway...thank you so much Desiree for posting that site! I love it!

My ceremony is also at 5pm, and I'm assuming we will do the late seating for dinner. I'm also hoping to do a cocktail hour in between. I actually didn't even think about NOT going to it...I was planning on going, but now you girls have made me think about it. I guess I don't even know what I would do in between that much time until dinner...so I'm sure I will go and just have fun with everyone! I'm not too worried about being announced, even though I would hope that they can do that at some point during the night!

Hey RPRM Brides,

I have spent hours on here reading the posts from the beginning to the end. It feels great to get so much information in one place. Anyway, my FI and I are planning to get married in April 2010. We were originally looking at the Grand Pallaium, but are now planning for the RPRM. The Palladium prices for the ceremony and reception seemed really high. Mostly because we anticipate between 45-60 people.

I have a few questions though? Is anybody concerned about the sandbags on the beach? Are they directly in front of the hotel or on the sides? Also, does anybody know how long you get at the restaurants for the semi-private receptions? I read that some people are bringing there own music but that these places do not allow music, which is correct? Is anybody getting married on the beach?

Well, even though I am just introducing myself now, I feel like I know so much about all of you after reading every single post. I think all of your bridesmaids dresses are beautiful. I know it can be a pain, I just went out and bought them because I live 3-8 hours away from my BM. They seem to like them and they were $40.

Some of you are getting married really soon here. I look forward to hearing how everything goes, likes and dislikes. I am just starting to plan now and it seems like there is already a lot booked for next April. My TA said the prices don't come out until July so I wasn't rushing. I suppose you can reserve your dates before booking though, right?

I look forward to hearing back from you guys. Oh, and I have never heard of BD photos. Are the nude?

Thanks

Trina

Trina - Welcome to the thread!! I'm excited to have more RPRM brides to exchange info with :) Congrats on the engagement! The wedding package prices of the RIU RM are what sold me too!

I've never been to the resort so I can't answer your questions about the sandbags. I'm also not getting married on the beach, but I've seen some great pics of it and think it will be beautiful!

I'd hope you can reserve your date without booking, considering the 2010 rates aren't out yet! I know there are some girls on the thread that can answer your questions regarding that. I'm glad you got a good deal on your BM dresses as well, I love getting a good deal.

BD pics stand for boudoir - mostly they are just girls in lingerie, but some people do them tastefully nude or semi-nude, but I'm not sure how common that is. Here are links to a few girls who posted theirs so you can get an idea of what they're like:

Hey RPRM Brides,

I have a few questions though? Is anybody concerned about the sandbags on the beach? Are they directly in front of the hotel or on the sides? Hi Trina- I just got engaged at the RPRM. Do not worry about the sandbags. They look like rocks. I had to actually go and stand on one to even realize that it was man made- and even at that my fiance asked one of the people who worked there to confirm it. So they are not an issue at all!

I saw a couple get married on the beach- they did have music playing. Also, I saw a very small wedding reception that was semi-private at the steak house. There is a balcony of sorts where you can have dinner- Im not sure how many people she had but it was a smaller group.

I hope that helps!

Amy

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
